I am thinking about mounting a red dot on my PC 625. I know you can get standard bases, but I think I've seen a few nice one piece mounts. Which ones should I look at? Pictures? (pictures of 625's are always great to look at)

Don't have one on my 625 because optics aren't permitted in IDPA. However, do have reflex sights on my 610, 617, and 620. Take a look, IMO it's a very slick setup however you can become a bit too dependent on optics, which is another reason I've left my 625 equipped with iron sights.

Link to my report with everything you might need if this interests you. One warnng, this is not cheap. However it does allow me to shoot like I was 20 years younger at long range.

Is there a base that does not require you to removed the rear sight?

Aimtech makes a sideplate mount that clamps on the top strap and uses the yoke and 1 sideplate screw for mounting but it will leave marks on the gun. I would suggest that you plan on removing the rear sight and store it in a safe place.
