Hi All

What size height rings should I use to mount a 6-16x44 1" tube scope to the top rail, I will be removing the iron sights.

Do I need a medium or high ring/mount ?

Thanks

You will need high rings, at least. You will also need a half-inch riser to keep the 44mm objective off the rail. Tall rings alone just barely make a 32mm objective clear.

Depends on the height of the mount, as Majorlk indicated 1/2" risers can be placed under rings or a cantilever mount, I have one on my 15-22 with YHM spacers.

Opppps, made a mistake on scope size, its a
BSA Contender 4-16x40, does this make any difference ?

What about a cantilever mount ?

What is the eye relief on the scope?

Do you want a QD mount?

Price range?

Primary Arms has a good selection and good prices. They also don't jack up shipping charges like most of the big names.

I like my Burris P.E.P.R. QD for the money. My new scope for my AR15 will get the American Defense mount though.

The PA brand mounts are good to go too if you don't want/need QD.

I like PA advertised items but I live "over the pond" and with your ITAR rules not many will ship to me.

These are not that many dealers here and they are spread out, and don`t carry practical stock. I need something with 4+ mag and a mount to suit without "hopefully" to rise it too high.

Scope price - up to $230
Mount/rings- up to $80-90
Prefer Illum.
Prefer side parallax

I found that the NcSTAR QR mount, which is slightly higher than most of the other true cantilever mounts would carry my BSA 4-14x44 Mil-Mil MRAD scope without a riser. I used it on my AR also.
Welcome to NcSTAR

However I ended up mounting in using heavier tactical rings, medium height, and then used a 1/2" riser under it also.

I bought a set of Weaver extra high and was disappointed, then I was in Cabela's and found a pair of see through rings on the shelf in the bargain cave. 1.4 inches from the top of the rail to the scope centerline. Works for me.
