I am looking for an inexpensive 3x-9x 40mm scope. It will be used 80% of the time at 25 yards, and the rest at 100 yards. I found a Bushnell that has an adjustable objective (model 714124). I am thinking this will help with the parallax.
Would this be usefull for switching between the 25/100 yards, or is it just a gimmick? My other thought is a scope with an illuminated reticle, but then I lose the objective adjustments for 25 yards.
Thoughts?

Yes.

100 yards is short range, you don't need adjustable parallax or any of that stuff to hit at that distance. So just get whatever features will make you feel better about your setup.

I have the Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn 3-9 x50mm (713959i). It has illuminated Red/green reticle, but I rarely use the illuminate part, unless it gets too dark, then I use green. For the most part, I use the regular crosshair. Amazon sells it for about $100.

I sighted in at 25 yards, also hits bulleye at 50 yards. Then it drops about 2 - 3 inches at 100 yards.
