OK don't you 5k at a time guys laugh til you hurt yourself. This if the first time I have seen 22lr at WM since the beginning of hunting season last year. As best I could count the had 25 or 30 boxes, I almost hyperventilated waiting on someone to come & open the case & sell me my three. The wife was with me & I could have gotten 6 but decided to play by the rules.
Not sure but I think their price on this has gone up a little , been so long I don't remember , $18.97 .
This will let the Grandson & I go on shooting til our fingers get tired.
Hope this was not just a fluke & you guys that said shortage was coming to an end were right.
The lady that came with the key to get them out did seem surprised : o

There is nothing against the rules for your wife to also buy 3 boxes. Walmart's rule is that each individual is entitled to 3 boxes.
There would still have been plenty left for others, sometimes you have to git em while you can.

My local WM had a bunch of Federal Automatch this morning, but I'm good on my supply so I left for those in need and picked up some 308 at 50 cents/round.

I know but what a surprise for the person that could have been me to come in & get the last 3 :)
Now if it were like back when I could not even get ammo for us to practice with our self-defense & carry weapons I would & did get both our limits.
,
This 15-22 is our fun gun & I hope who ever gets that other 3 boxes has as much fun with their 975 rds as I plan to with these.

Very good for you! And... very good for others who were able to buy such good ammo locally at a fairly reasonable price!

A few days ago I dropped by a variety type shop owned by one of my church members. Upon leaving, I just happened to cross the street and wander into the LGS. Wonder of wonders... he had some .22 LR in stock... CCI Standard Velocity... $12/100 rds; Rem. Golden Bullets ... $40/500 rds. and... Aguila HV copper coated for $4.50/50 rds. Because of previous poor results with the Rem. GB's, I opted for the Aguila as it has given sterling results in my pistols. Was able to buy seven boxes... not much but better than I've been able to find lately. Sincerely. brucev.

So thinking of breaking my rule & buy some 22lr on line only because that is the only place I see subsonic or standard velocity.
My question is , is $0.09 a rd. a sale price for CCI standard ?

where you find it for that?

It is pretty much the standard rate from what I have seen when its available.

where you find it for that?

Palmetto has a deal going currently.

And for getting Walmart ammo score I use the Wikiarms Walmart ammo search function. It also helps to know when your local stores stock their shelves. I had had no luck for the longest time in my local Wallyword finding ammo until I used the comment section on the Walmart.com website and left a pretty angry message. Two days later i received a phone call from my local stores manager who was very friendly and helpful and was willing to do everything in his power to get me every chance to get ammo. He even went so far as to offer to take my name and phone number and call me whenever 22lr ammo came in stock. After a brief conversation he explained to me when the store actually stocked the shelves and with that info i have went in two times when the Walmart.com website and Wikiarms.com said they had ammo in stock and each time i came out with roughly 1000 rounds of ammo, first time 3 Bulk packs of federal 325, and second time 3 Winchester 333 packs.

So if you do a little research finding out when the store stocks their shelves (mine does roughly 8:30 PM until about 11:pm) and use online inventory tools like Walmart.com, Wikiarms.com or Brassbadger your odds might significantly rise.

Should have had your dog buy three boxes too.
I have a little to shoot. When I can find it at a reasonable price I buy & shoot, if not I just don't.
I am thinking very seriously about going suppressed , sounds like it is going to be a little pricy.
Just wondering if I will be able to get ammo for a reasonable price if so I would buy up some before I even start.

I've had good luck at Academy Sports recently. Lots of Federal the past 2 times I've gone in.

micocyco,

Sir you are a good and kind man. Had the same thing happen 6 mos. ago on "limit 2 boxes". I had an employee with me at Bass Pro...left w/2 boxes...kicked myself several times but we all deserve to have some .22 fun. Who in the world ever would've thought .22's would be the hardest to get? Not me................

hi

Well done that man!

Not sure but I think their price on this has gone up a little said:
And at a great price too :D

I feel your pain Brucey

The prices in your area seem to be on a par with the UK, CCI Standard £60.00 per 1000, & RWS Semi Auto £90.00 per thousand.

Happy Shooting!

Unfortunately, when you add shipping to that deal, I would be just of 10.5 cents per round. So to the question of 9 cents per round being about average, yes and if you can get it home for that, 9 cents is a pretty good deal for CCI standard.

I finely got enough stock so that I can just buy when it's a good deal. I tend to find the best deals (for me) at Gander Mt. and Cabela's because both are reasonably close to me and I can ship to store for free. The problem with Cabela's is the one box limit so I only get larger boxes there (300 rnds +). Gander will have Mini Mags from time to time and when they do, they'll let you by 5 (100 rnd) boxes. It's a pain but the only way to get it at a reasonable price.

Arik - LOL but it is exciting to find .22lr, on the shelf and for a reasonable price (less than 6 cents per round). Hell, I'm excited just seeing the picture. :D

That's what i do. The closest Cabeleas to me is about 50 miles. I make orders from them when they have the cheap stuff in bulk and maybe once a month i will drive to the store to pick it up.

I have roughly 15,000 Remington Thunderturds currently and about 25,000 rounds of various other 22 LR sitting around waiting to be shot.

Walmart is a great source if you know the tricks, and Cabelas ship to store is awesome.

Figure this is as good a place as any to bring up Cabela's updated their in-store 22 limit to 1,200 rounds. 3 of the last 4 times I've been there they have had 22 and plenty of it.

I hope this is a sign of things opening up, and I wasn't the only one looking and walking on past.
