SCSW4 - braggin a little....

Mine should arrive in 3 days, it's been or order months. 1st thing to to install the protective cover, Clear Contact Paper. This tough flexible coating has protected my SCSW3 for about 10 years.

Mine showed up just before 11:00 this morning. Been reading ever since. The wife delivered lunch to my chair so I wouldn't have to put the book down. Now i'm taking a break.

Pretty good so far. A few type setting errors (no way it could be a writing error.) I really liked the grip photos, they really improved with that.

Now I need to hide my copy. The last one I started a little game. I would take mine to the gun shows and have the friends mentioned autograph it. I had ordered 3 of them, one to do that with, one for the bedroom and one for the gun room. My wife took it upon herself to give one of them to each son. Including the one with signatures in it. It didn't make any difference to her, she was just giving away my stuff. Pre death even.

I bought two, one for son. They arrived just a couple minutes ago. Opened the box and one of the books looks like it was dropped on the back top edge, denting it up. Not damaged to the point of being unreadable, but annoying, nevertheless. There was no, like none, packing inside the box, so that there was several inches where the book could slide. The shipping box was not damaged at all, however.

Now for some good reading!

Congratulations, Jim! I gave my 3rd edition to a friend, 4th is supposed to be here tomorrow.

Congrats..... got mine Tues. and... LOL... been perusing it around work and son's Soccer Playoff games.............great reading and updates from the 3rd Ed.....been reading with a hi-lighter in hand!!!!!!

Couple of my observations (not criticisms)..................

Really like the new "Pricing Premiums" section on many models.........IMO a great addition......for us "amateur accumulators"

found some surprising info on Model 10s Pricing Premiums.

Surprised, given the number of threads over the years; that no note on pricing premium on 3" 66-2, -3,-4s given that that they are often bringing in excess of $1,000.

Really looking forward to reading....... Section I.... as the "devil is in the details!"

Congrats again!!!!!!

Foolish boy! Keep them all, like hoard them. Off to my right is my bookcase. Even from the 10 or so feet away I can pick out the earlier editions, 1, 2, and 3. And I can see McHenry & Roper, too. But that shelf is packed. Something has got to go. Not out, but as in down to the lower shelf where the Colt books and what not are stored (as in not viewed often). So that 1st team shelf needs to keep my Randall knife books. I'm considering lowering some of the pretty picture books. Will give me room for expansion and easier removal of the worthies.

As a side note, a few years ago my favorite neighbors came up for a short Christmas visit. The wife came over and exclaimed "oh my God, it looks just like my dad's bookshelf!" I took it as a nice compliment. It means I'm not the only idiot who reads gun stuff.

Supica is in good company. At the end of the stack is my big Charles M Russell book.
