Have a 40 Shield and looking for a full size stable mate for it. Considering a SD40VE. Would really like another M&P but just do not know if they are worth the extra $200. My main concern though is I am hearing a lot about unsupported chambers on the SD40VE. ( I know it's taboo, but I do reload).

How many here get bulged cases with their SD40VE? How about with their full size M&P 40? Would you pony up the extra dinero and get a M&P?

My experience with the Shield is that the case is fully supported. My brother has a SD40VE that I have fired a few times. I liked it and do not recall any bulged cases.

Thanks in advance.

What he said. I own an SD40VE and it's a nice enough gun, but clearly a budget weapon. I ended up buying an M&P .40 Pro Series 3 months after the SD40VE.

Save yourself the money and get the M&P now.

I'd say it depends heavily on your intended use for it. I have the SD40VE and it is my primary HD weapon. I've seen a large number of posts for folks saying it's they're EDC. I don't reload though so I can't speak to any kind of bulged brass issues.
