I have re-done the lettering in a different color. I'll get a pic of it now, and add it here.

from my perspective the sd 40 is a good gun. I have about 500 rounds downrange no problems yet. I read just about everything that has been wrote about them and i would recommend it to anybody.

It seems the SD series gets off on the wrong foot because of the early problems with the Sigma line. The SD series is beginning to prove itself with time.

I have nothing against the SD.If the Sigma had not been a choice to buy between the 2 I would own an SD.I just can't see me spending the extra dollars for a gun that is as close to the Sigma as it is.

How is that SD 40 working for you? Whats your opinion on it.

For right now I think the SD's are great guns.

Looks great, good size, nice weight to a fantastic price. I just don't like the grips - feels kinda uncomfortable to me.

Unfortunately I did not go to the range yet. But I try to go soon...

The SD40 is a great firearm in my mind. The grips angle is one of the things that sold me on it over the Sigma as well as the front slide serrations. I put 150 rounds through it at the range yesterday with out any problems. Well... there were plenty of problems with the shooter... I need to learn this trigger haha.

I put a pachmayr grip glove on mine, it's great. Read a review of the SDs the other night, the 'expert' ended by saying it was different in several ways from the sigma, and similar to the M&P in several ways- he named quite a few- and in the end, he really preferred it over the sigma, special mention of the trigger, grip and width. But still likes the sig as well, saying 'it's a Smith- what's not to like?'.

Glad to finally see a color-fill on an SD. I can't get over how good these guns look. I sold my SD40 and really wanting the SD9 now. I shoot fairly decent with the 40 but think I can do better w/ a 9.
