Hello SD fans.

Really love my new SD9. The only problem is that I'm lefty. Is it possible to reverse the magasine release button on this handgun?

Unfortunately I don't think it can be reversed like the M&P's.
Your manual doesn't show that it can be reversed either.
You may need to get used to using your trigger finger.
With practice you will get the hang of it.

Lock & Drop, oops!

I am having a problem with the magazine release on my SD9, I have on numerous occasions say 50% of the time when removing my fire arm from the holster it has released the magazine dropping it on the ground, I am saying it's like it is not engaging the catch, has anyone else experienced this problem, if you have, how can it be resolved?

While it is possible you have a defective catch, this is often caused by "topping off" or inserting a full magazine against a closed slide. The magazine may not fully lock, and falls out on the draw or first shot. It is very funny at a match to everyone except the one holding the gun. :o

Well I know it is not from topping off, I carry 14 rounds total on purpose, to make the mag springs last a little longer, it seems to occur regardless of which mag I am using. Do you know how to replace the mag spring on the SD9? I am thinking that is where my problem lies. Your right about the humor in it my wife thought it was pretty funny the first few times anywayy.

If you believe it is a mechanical problem, I'd suggest contacting S&W for warranty repair. They will probably replace the entire magazine catch assembly. Free repair and shipping.
