I bought a couple boxes of Federal .32 mag 100gr semi-wadcutters.

Cool huh?...Never had those before. I've been shooting either Federal 85gr jacketed hollowpoints or Buffalo Bore 100gr jacketed ammo.

Anyhow..I open the box and the bullets don't look like any semi wadcutter I've seen in the past...looks more like a plain lead bullet that would've been a round-nose lead except for a flat nose.

Are these really a semi-wadcutter..or just what Federal calls a semi-wadcutter?

Yes, they are a semi-wadcutter. If you look closely there is a small shoulder just ahead of the case mouth where the nose transitions from full diameter to the ogive. Just not much of a step, but it is there, and that is all it takes to make it a SWC.

Hmm...these are 95gr bullets..not 100 grain...must be a feeble shoulder 'cause I don't see it...round-nose up to the flat-point.

I'll accept these as wadcutters because that's what the box says..just not what I've seen described as semi-wadcutter before
