Libs have 60 Senate seats. The leftists will be unchecked for the next 2 years at least. We desperately need to win some Senate seats in 2010.

I am gravely concerned about the path this nation is taking. Al Franken is just the latest dregs in a currently bitter national cup.

Looks like I got out of Minnestoa just in time. I spent 10 years up there till spring of '08, and it was a really nice place to live, its too bad. Ventura wasn't all that he was cracked up to be, but we finally got the carry license through in '03.

I think many people really thought that ousting one party and electing the other would help. Instead of looking at the candidates themselves, too many voters looked for the letter in front of each candidates name.

I refuse to call myself a Dem or a Repub. I vote based on the candidates values and stand on issues. I couldn't care less if they have a big R or D.

I'm with you. The extremes of both parties both scare me and piss me off.

So now, after 6 years of big-government Republicans being in complete control, we will have at least 2 years of big-government Democrats being in complete control. Both of them frantically trying to out spend and out liberal the other.

Ah, but the winds of change may be blowing. More and more people see what is going on and are getting fed up.

I can feel the bile in my throat. What in the hell are those people thinking up there?

It's embarrassing, I live in Minnesota and can't answer that question. My friends and I have lost faith in the election process. The Libs are clinging to power by whatever means are necessary. When the state initiated the automatic recount I told my wife "the fix is in!"

Sadly I was correct, sorry guys...

Well here ya go...just for posterity's sake

I am seriously thinking of changing my User Name now......

On behalf of all Minnesotans who believe in the basic values in life, I apologize for sending yet another clown to Congress.

Ah Hell!
We've sent Murray there two times already and likely will for a third.
And Cant(vote)well now twice also?
So you've got no corner on the market for moron voters, believe me!
As to the song stylings employed during the runoff/court case? See Washington states governors race (Rossi v. Gregoire). There too, state run re,re,re,recount till POOF!
"Instant win". This is what I was talking about when I said last year "the Chicago Way".

He wasn't very funny when he was on SNL and I'm sure that he not going to give us anything to laugh about now.

I guess I was asleep at the wheel for the last 6 years of Republicans in complete control. I thought Harry Reid took over in 2007 from Bill Frist. And that Frist had taken over from Tom Daschle in 2003.

Let's see, 2007 minus 2003, that must be about 6. Okay, I got it now. It's the new math, Obama economy, everything has to be multiplied.

I don't like complete power in any political party but especially not one that can spend money like these guys.

Eh. I rather like Franken. I usually but his books from the salvage bin at the Dollar Tree. They're amusing enough. Sending people like Franken to Washington might just stir things up a bit.

I think we should be sending our condolences to all of the members from Minnesota. They have just elected a really poor comedian, one who could not make it on Sat. Night Live or talk radio to the "Worlds Greatest Deliberative Body". This is a man (?) whose only distinguishing personality trait is a really foul temper.
If you were from Minnesota you would have to spend the next 6 years denying that you voted for the creep.

Senators with any personal integrity would resign rather then be associated with him, although if you can stand being in the same room with T. Kennedy you standards can't amount to much.
And then there's Boxer & Reid & ........... Maybe Franken isn't out of place after all .......

My son was in law school in Miami on the day that Jesse Ventura was elected guv of MN. In class that day the professor happened to be discussing the topic of who should not be allowed to vote . One of the students raised his hand and answered " Anyone from Minnesota ".

That can also be said for people from NY,,,,hell they voted for a woman ? that had no experiece at anything, never lived lived in the state, until the idiot husband got out of office, and now she is in the one of the top jobs in the USA...Hell a monkey could do a better job

I think we are seeing just the tip of the iceberg here. It's become a popularity contest (not that it didn't used to be before, but usually those candidates were popular for at least some of the right reasons)

What you need to make it into office today:

1. An A list name. Which basically means anyone of celebrity status.

2. Gobs of money, and/or the ability to raise same.

3. The youth vote (see number 1)

That's about it.

The main stream media (libs) is not going to give you any kind of accurate poll as to what's going on in this country right now. I smell another Jimmy Carter. I just got back from a two week vacation, most of it in the West, and everyone I talked to is mad as Hell about what is going on right now. Apparently our representatives don't have a clue. Hopefully they'll starting getting clues next year when we throw a bunch of them out. It ain't all Dems. There's some guilty Republicans in there also. I have yet to see anyone from Nevada admit they voted for Harry Reid. Maybe he'll go first. Cap and trade= HIGH AS HELL FUEL TAX! Scream at your Senators who have yet to vote on this crap and throw the representatives out who already voted for it. Fair or flat tax and a balanced budget! Anything other than that is treason.

Charlie I agree, a flat tax is the way too go,,tax ALL and I don't care how many kids you have,,,if you dont pay taxes you get NOTHING back. as a matter of fact if you dont pay tax, you get nothing

At least you've got Michele Bachmann.

+1. I feel exactly the same. The problem is, most don't. They think that by simply going to the polls and casting a vote, they have done their part. They have no idea of the record and views of the person they voted for. All they know is their party, and the "tell em what they want to hear" speeches that they heard in the media. And when this Country that our men and women have fought and died for collapses, when our rights and freedoms are squashed, it won't be the fault of the politicians. The blame will rest on the shoulders of the people who voted them into office.

Al Franken is ........ well I better just keep it to myself.

We are in deep trouble people IMHO. Deep, deep trouble.
