Has anyone heard of "tightening up the action" or "narrowing the forcing cone" on a Model 27?
I've been around guns since the 1970s and this is the first time
I've ever heard of this... thank you!

I haven't heard of them either. However, they sound as if one should make sure the ammo has been removed before attempting.
Just my two cents.

They sound closer to shotgun 'smithing terminology and then not quite right.
Tightening up the action,,is often used around the SxS game. The guns w/a loose lock-up are often said to be in need of 'tightening up the action'.

Forcing cones in shotgun bbls,,they are quite often 'lengthened' in older shotguns from their old, original abrupt angle style to a longer, more gentle angle slope from chamber to bbl bore.
But 'narrowing the forcing cone'..? No

Maybe Toad67 is right..and there was some beer involved in the conversation.
