Hey Guys....well the Indoor Range/Gun shop called me today to come pick up my Victory Model S&W.......and its Beautiful....the gunsmith was there behind the counter working on a rifle...he took a look at it and said it had never been fired..!!......not to hurt anyones feelings...but I put 50 Rounds of wadcutters thru it and love the way it shoots....will post photo as soon as I can find my camera.....and per you guys advice....I carefully took the smooth wooden grips off....and they are numbered to the pistol.!!..and the Gun Range owner..(who is a full time police officer)...agreed with you guys to Not shoot +P thru it....he said it wouldnt hurt it...but he wouldnt do it...and he suggested for carry purposes...HORNADY .38 Spcl.110 Gr.FTX Ammo....funny thing the wadcutters were around 150 grain I believe....but the pistol is a tack-driver.!!...now Im trolling Ebay looking for a good used Tan Holster....for concealed carry...I understand ..thanks again to one of the forum members...its a K Frame.....and Ive ordered one of the WW2 Pilots Holsters from Pacific Canvas & Leather.....those folks are really nice....girl named Linda...is the rep on the phone......Well....thanks again guys for alllll your help and good advice......Best Wishes.....Hans Fischer

You just gave a few guys a pit in their stomachs. :)

I guess they are for shooting after all. Congrats.

That makes no sense. If it wouldn't hurt the gun why avoid it?

Again (for the 100th time) +P is a mild load that is loaded well below allowable chamber pressure so why avoid it? Here's my Victory Model posed with some of the 500 +Ps and 600 +P+s I fired through it.

+P and your pistol

Thanks for your info on the +P and i really have to agree with you on the +P........but my big question is....tell me about your pistol in the photo....what is that.....5" barrel.?..is it S&W Victory.??.......Be careful with your answer as you might just launch me on another quest.....for a 5" barrel Victory................right now Im looking for a holster....on Ebay....and am I correct in assuming the Victory is a Model 10.?....Ive been told its a k frame.........Thanks again....Hans

Yes, it is a K frame revolver.
No, it is not a "Model 10." S&W did not give model numbers to its hand ejector revolvers until 1957, after the Second World War was long over. The closest thing to a Victory is the .38 M&P Model of 1905 Fourth Change hand ejector revolver. The Victory is basically the same gun, with modifications appropriate to its role as a military revolver. The Model 10 is a descendant of the same design, but includes differences (improvements) of design. One key improvement came mid-way through Victory production, when the hammer block was modified.
I hope this clarifies the issue for you.
Regards,
JP
