Shield 45 questions

If you retired from the job, you are still entitled to the blue label program at Glock, but not S&W, to my knowledge.
Not retired lol it just got too political for my taste and I bowed out. Im only 26. When your ex girlfriends dad is over you at one department and her cousin is your cheif at another it gets rather complicated.

if you can keep both that would be my choice. I have both and would dump the Shield way way before the G23, and I really like the Shield 45. My G23 tho IMHO is a far superior weapon , Its capacity, power size conceaibility make it my Favorite EDC in my rotation (Yes, That includes my G19/26)

I believe I'll keep it for now and also get the shield. Later on I may get a 45 acp glock to replace my 23

I bought a .45 shield just before Thanksgiving. I really like the pistol. Recoil is very manageable the trigger isn't bad either. MidwayUSA - Shop Shooting, Hunting, & Outdoor Products has magazines for a pretty good price also. I am shooting the Speer 230 gr. Gold Dot short barrel ammo in it. It is designed to have less muzzle flash in the short barrel guns. I use the same ammo in my Glock 30S.

So, I don't get this. Does the gun have an actual blue label on it? I'm pretty ignorant of this program so I don't know. Wondering how the store would even know. I Googled it and it appears that it is on the box. I guess if that's the plastic case then the store would know the origin of the pistol. But regardless, it's the same pistol just sold at a discount to LEOs so its value to others is the same. I don't think what you paid for something has any affect at all on what you sell it for. Sure, someone might use that knowledge to try to bring you down a bit more but I don't think they should just subtract $75-100 from the price right out of the gate. I got a great deal on the last boat I bought from another state and could have easily turned around and sold it for $1-2k more as soon as I got home. No way I would have priced it for less than it was worth in my areas just because I paid less for it.
I have no opinion on the matter. I work for the largest FFL in Florida. 8 stores, & 45 gun shows a year. Average 82 tables a show where we sell 600+ guns on a weekend. That's how we do it, so when I read that other stores do it too, I say I guess other FFL's feel the same way. But I don't think it would be fair for a LE to buy a $480 gun for $400 with his blue label discount, use it for a few years, & sell it for $400 which would be the used price if he paid $480 new. Simple solution. Peel the blue label off the box/case. GARY

I just got a Shield 45 on sale for $370 a week ago and has become my EDC. I am using Sig V crown ammo surprisingly little recoil compared to the 40 S&W shield my buddy has. I'm glad I got the 45 but need to break in the trigger, it is heavy and gritty like all my M&P;s were to start.
