Does anyone here think that the Shield only vaguely resembles an M&P?

This guy's video talks about how the thumb safety is a flaw because it flips on too easily. I've read here that a lot of people think that it is too tight, and doesn't flip easily enough.

But at :20-:30 seconds he says something that made me go, "Say whaaa?"

Another video ... oh my ...

The first 15 second lead seems to give some insight into the probable nature of what's to follow.

Making a "review" of a firearm made by one company, while wearing a logo-marked shirt for another company (guessing he doesn't actually work for HK? ;) ). Really?

Wearing one of those HUGE "tactical" bracelets. Really?

That sort of ball cap is appropriate for wearing during a professional presentation (or an attempt at one) ... IF your presentation is sports-related.

Dialogue. Really?

Fanny pack?

Complete disinterest to listen further.

I've watched 2-3 of his videos. Some of his lines are funny, but many were unnecessarily vulgar.

Using his "reviews" for real decisions would not be prudent.

I like this person's comment,
And I don't know why you think it doesn't look like an M&P... it looks exactly like an M&P. Not vaguely, not just a little bit, but exactly. It even has M&P stamped on the slide. The only difference is, it's thinner, and doesn't have a removable backstrap.

The real kicker is that people are thanking this guy for his advice. Too many space cadets out there with internet experience that can't think for themselves. If you want real advice go talk to your father, grandpa, or buddy that actually fought in a war.

And about the endless safety debates. It is not a big deal, no really its not. I'd like to meet the person that came up with the idea that safeties are evil creatures that will get you killed. I really have yet to read any article where a person was killed because of a safety. And if one does exist it's because the person failed to train properly. I'd imagine there are more accidental discharges by firearms without a manual safety. Buy a Glock if you hate manual safeties so much.

Negative reviews, from guys wearing shirts or hats of manufacturers they favor, should be dismissed.

At the beginning of the video he said he wasn't impressed with this gun. Near the end he says he loves it. How many times does he have to repeat himself. Did you guys read the comments, people thanking him for his insight.

When I watch videos about products I am thinking about buying, I watch them for the product reviews but I also watch the people giving them and see for myself if I can trust thier opinion. When the guy contradicts himself that is a big red flag for me. Also the lead into his video was dumb. And I don't think I have to say this but I will FANNY PACK? right I know.

Long and short before I bought my first S&W I joined this forum and read up on the models I was interested in. A wealth of knowledge here and out there if you know where to look. For me this guy just doesn't make the cut.

Not only does it look like an M&P IT IS AN M&P.

If you want an honest review of the Shield check out Military Arms Channel. I've never been much of a fan of YM videos, he's kind of all over the place. MAC always presents everything in a clear and concise manner. Or check out Hickok 45's shooting demos of the Shield.

That was me ;) (did you do that intentionally? Dawww :o )

Gee my 40 Shield sure looks like my other 2 M&P 40's, but what do I know, I have never made a Youtube video before. This is the same Bozo at the gun counter at Wally World that knows it all.

He is kind of a tool but he does also have an m&p9c... I've unsubscribed from his channel a few times...

Fanny pack!!! that say's enough right their. Real men carry a wallet and a gun on their hip tucked inside their waistband or on their belt.

Seriously a fanny pack.

two things

If I had a problem with the holster I would look into a new holster rather than a new gun. Maybe modify the old one so it won't disengage the safety.

If he doesn't want the safety, don't put the safety on in the first place and treat the gun like it could go off if you touch the trigger, which is what should be expected in the first place.

BTW if the safety was harder to disengage people would complain about that.

I watched Yankee Doodles video and I came away more convinced to continue training to sweep safety as I present my Shield.

For the record I use a man purse (fanny pack) when I peddle bike but I am also confident enough to wear a pink tie to work.

Russ :-)

Some of his stuff is hilarious.

Why does the shield come with a thumb safety anyway?
