Shield magazine-UpLULA question

I have a Shield with possibly 3-400 rds through it. I also have a UpLULA loader that I have used from day one to load the magazines, including loading the shells that I use when I carry.
Today at the range, I was loading a mag. with some of my reloads, speer hulls, 180 gr FMJ bullet. I noticed that the mag seemed tight on the shells, I had not seen this issue before. I went ahead and shot the rounds and had several failure to load another round into the barrel.

When using the UpLULA loader it rides on the lips of the magazine. Is it possible that constant use has closed up the lips? Has anyone else had this problem? I did a search and didn't find anything.

Thank you in advance for your input.

I've got about 1500 rounds through my Shield 9, all loaded with an Uplula (arthritis). The Shield and the magazines have functioned flawlessly and the magazines lips look fine.

This, except I only have a little over 1000 rounds through mine. Maybe 1200, tops. Not having a problem.

I use the UPULA on my 9mm Shield with no problem! Is it possible the case's on your reloaded ammo may be a little oversized? How does it work w factory ammo

The reloaded ammo, (40 cal) is approx .003 larger than the factory, but I always do the "plunk" test after loading and crimping. Never noticed a problem until today. I'm gonna take the magazines apart tomorrow, clean and re assemble.

Please post what you do find!

Took the magazines apart today, they are assembled correctly. Cleaned and re-assembled them. I also opened up the top of them by using a .375 rod and forcing the opening outward. Shells go in easier now. Just need to get to the range and test fire. Thanks for the input.

I'm assuming you are but will ask anyway - are you FL sizing your 40 brass when reloading? And is your FL die adjusted correctly so that it does FL size?
