It's possible, if you are to trust that they would not scam people by inflating the MSRP that you were looking at the night sight model. If that's the case, they probably would have a decent price on the FO model. If, however, that is the FO model, then it's too high IMO (depending on where you live).

Secondly, consider the purposes of the pistol. Tritium sights will be invaluable at night time and still usable during the day. FO sights will be very noticeable during the day but will be completely useless at night. Personally, I'd rather have a decent sight picture 24/7 than a very nice one half the time and zero sight picture the other half. YMMV; but in this day of active shooter terrorist pieces of garbage floating around, never underestimate the possibility of needing to take an aimed shot even with a short barrel gun.

first trip to the range with my new PC shield in 40, and stove pipe after stove pipe. I'll get some pics up if I can remember my photobucket info. it will not chamber a round unless the magazines are loaded to 3 rounds or less. after inspecting the chamber very closely, it honestly looks like someone took a dremmel to it. This was bought brand new Saturday evening

I love my PC shield 9mm, I plan on getting truglo tfx sights though.

Gun show was in town... I thought that I could go an get a Shield Performance Center in 9mm at a discounted price... boy was I wrong. They had them marked with MSRP of 599.99 and at special for 519.99... what a bunch of #@$%^%$^ 519.99 is the MSRP!!!

Anyway... did not buy it... I want one but I am not going to pay full price for it... I can wait...

The PC .40 Shield I bought yesterday was listed at $489.99 with FO sights. Fourteen rounds so far with no problems.

The problem is that you're shopping at Shoot Straight (I recognize the price tag). Let me put it this way... I don't have a problem with them like a lot of people. I have found most of the people who work there to be really nice and attentive people. I had an issue once where I had to talk to a manager because of a mistake with something, and he could not have been friendlier or more apologetic for what really was an innocent error. There are one or two knuckleheads that work there, but that's par for the course at most gun shops.

However, their store is filled 85% with stuff that is wildly over-priced, 10% at decent prices, and 5% with stuff that is at screaming great deals. Another possibility is that they have it stickered incorrectly considering the inflated MSRP that coincidentally is more inline with the night sight version.

Find some sources online for that pistol that show lower prices. Then tell them what you're willing to pay. I would bet that they will talk to the manager and come down on price. You might not get it for what you want to pay, but it is extremely likely to be below what it says on the tag. Know what the max is that you'll pay before you go in and walk if it doesn't work out for you.

Personally I typically only buy stuff from them that is on sale. There are a few sale items in their store that are priced WAY below market average when they are trying to move a particular item. The rest is good mostly for browsing only unless you're really desperate to find something since their selection is usually quite good (at least it is in the Apopka store).

I agree with the post above. And will add there stores and the gun show are operated separately and don't usually match each others prices. I have been at the Tampa gun show looking at something and the price was to high. Went to there store across the road and got it much cheaper.

I have a 40 Shield PC. I put Trijicon night sights and a single spring SS guide rod ( that helped with pulling the slide back ). Works great.

No reports of one yet but I'd be very surprised not to see one in a couple of years.

Went to the local Gander Mountain and Shoot Straight stores looking for a Shield PC with the Tritium Night Sights and none to be found. I figured the Shoot Straight guys would have it since they had it in during the gun show...turns out it is a different inventory that gets sent to the show from what they have in the local stores. So I lucked out. Will call a few other gun shops to see if anyone locally has one.

I have bought a new M&P 40 cal and have put 400 rounds through it. I have an issue with it shooting low left. I know of the usual issues with trigger finger grip etc...I shot expert with 45/M16/M14/M40 in the corp was witch Force Recon Sniper platoon. I asked my deputy sheriff friends (2 different ones) to fire the weapon and said nothing prior to them doing so. They have the same issue we all had to aim above the right shoulder to hit center mass at 5 yds. Can anyone help with a suggestion?

I predict that you will still get the advice that you're probably causing the problem, not the gun. I can almost promise you that a bulk of the responses will be suggesting that it is almost certainly YOUR fault. I've seen it over and over and over here... so you've been warned. ;-)

Well...went looking for one with night sights... Not available locally in the different stores that I went to.

I was hanging out with friends tonight and one of them told me that a local store had them in stock. We went there after dinner and there were two with fiber optics at 459.00. I ended up walking away with one of them... Another friend, that was with us, could not resist and he bought the second one.

Oh well... I will eventually give this one to my daughter, or my son, and get another one with the night sights for me...

I was not really interested in the Shield until I walked into my LGS and as soon as he saw me handed me the new PC Shield that they just gotten in. I buy a lot of guns off him. Anyway after seeing it and holding it I bought it and sold all my Glock's and bought the Shield 45 also.
That PC Shield sure turned the table for me.

If you're talking the fiber optics, those are HI-VIZ.

OK, so I researched these HIVIZ Litewave sites and they are a number of poor reviews posted on Amazon. Mostly saying they don't let in nearly enough light, front site doesn't fit, and are made from low quality "soft' metal. HIVIZ customer service appears to be lacking as well. I'm surprised to read this since S&M elected them to put sites on the PC Shield. I was only interested in them because I assumed they must have been better quality then competitor sites if S&W is using them on stock pistols. I guess I'll keep looking.
