Received a call at 9:45 am from Shooter Supply in Louisville that they received 30 Shields yesterday and was calling the waiting list people. They sold 10 yesterday. I thought they had lost my name. I had already found one.

$440. I just called them.

I'll continue to wait until I can buy one under $335. :cool:

But they do have some left.
 
I too decided to wait... had one in my hands that I ordered via Gander Mountain... but just could not pay full MSRP when folks have been getting them at a discount. I can wait...

Went to the local gun show last Saturday and did not see a single Shield for sale... got my son a Ruger 10/22 Stainless 22" Barrel 22 LR rifle instead...
 
UNDER $335.00. I know I've seen posts of a few getting LE discounts and a couple of other low Shield prices, but any gun shop selling for that price is making little or no profit. Sure you can wait, and wait, and wait. It is one thing to get one in the upper $300's to $400. I am not saying under $335 is not possible, but why have a fire sale price when almost anyone would pay $400. It's not like there is an over supply of Shields, on the market.

That is the LEO price for them from most places. That's what they were when Budspolice had them in stock. That's what I'll pay.

For $440 I can buy a mint 3913!
For $440 I can buy a 6906! With 3 mags and a holster!
For $440 I can buy a Sig Sauer!
For $440 I can buy a 4513!!

And you know what? That's what I have been buying!:D So keep on hyping up the Shield and I'll keep buying up beautiful third gens that I think are much better guns. I already have over two dozen hand guns. I really don't need a Shield, especially when the same money buys a mint 4513.....

The Shield is not worth $440 imho.

IMHO,the shield is just not HYPE.I own a few S&W 3 gens.myself (2)5906,s,(2)3913,3914 TSW and CS9 that are wonderfull pistols.I also own a 9mm shield and 9+mm M&P.They are just as nice and shoot just as well as my 3rd gens. do.coobie:D
 
I agree with Lost Lake; the Shield is not a $440 gun. When all the hysteria settles down, Shields will be readily available for non leo folks for less than $400 (the same as LC9s, Nanos, etc.). I qualify for a mil/leo gun but nobody seems to have any of those in stock. Lots of other guns in my safe, I'll buy a Shield when the price levels off.

I agree with not paying MSRP or higher just because it's popular and hard to get right now. Dealers selling at inflated prices don't respect their client base and are out for the quick buck.

Both my LGSs have only been charging $390 since the release. While $390 is not anywhere near the $330 LEO price, it is a pretty fair mark-up for the Dealer and decently below MSRP.

To me, the Shield is MUCH better than the $400 DAO Hammer Fire Heavy recoil LC9 and worth a $390 - $400 tag. How much more (or less) and individual is willing to pay is purely up to them. ;)
 
The LGS that I frequent just got a number of 9mm Shields in stock. They said they've sold a number already but still have several left. When you click on the pic of the Shield on their homepage is just takes you to their weekly flyer...no shields in the ad. You will have to call. I bought my Shield through them a couple of months ago...totally dig it! Good luck!

Nope not yet. Few places had there here and there but havent seen them in a while. Most Shields i have seen at once is at the gun shows, mostly in the .40. I seen only one 9mm and guy bought in within first 2 minutes of the door opening. There have been a few on BP but they usually want $550 - $575 for it.

Also American Shooters has a 9mm for rent if you havent shot one yet.
 
Just simmer down and wait a bit for the price to drop it will belive me I've been buying handguns for 45 years.

Got a call from The Gun Store yesterday, my turn finally came up after a little over 2 months on their waiting list. They have one 9mm coming in for me in a few days, so I went in and took care of all the paperwork. This Shield business has been almost as difficult as trying to find good pizza here, lol!
