Just joined and have a question, normally I'm fairly knowledgeable on general gun stuff. I have/had a bunch of S&W products and decided to join this group.

My question is I was given a bunch of older military ammo and was wondering if I should shoot it (in S&W products NATCH) or if it's got some value as collector stuff.

It is .all 38 special 130 grain ball 1 lot (50 count) of RA5238, 1 box of FC made M41 1847, 3 boxes (50 count of FC made M41 1818. Boxes & ammo are all in good condition. All boxes have the disclaimer that they are for military only and not suitable for civilian or law enforcement use. Thanks

It's 130gr FMJ target ammo - shoot it up!

Currently WW, Federal, Winchester, and maybe others produce the exact load. It originally was for the Air Force.

Thank you both for your replys. I know those rounds back then were lightely loaded for use in light framed revolvers to be used in SHTF situations.

No sense in shooting it up if it was worth more as trade stock. It does not appear that is whats happening, so in the next couple weeks my 36 60 and 15 2'' will get a little bit of exercise!:D

Thanks again!:)
