SHOT Show Rumors

I have no idea what is going to be introduced at the SHOT Show, or what S&W will be introducing on December 12th. (Edited on December 11th: Glock apparently had a "Big Event" scheduled for December 10th, too, which appears to have been the introduction of the GLOCK 44 .22 LR Caliber Pistol). S&W needs a 9mm pistol with a hammer, but it may be a rifle.

Most of us in Virginia can only hope if S&W does introduce a long gun that it does not have a box magazine, does not hold more than three rounds in a tubular magazine, is not a semi-automatic, does not have a flash suppressor or a threaded barrel, does not have a pistol grip or a bayonet lug, etc. Long guns with any one of those qualities apparently are "Assault Firearms." "Assault Firearms" are going to be illegal in Virginia, and all existing ones quite possibly confiscated, after January 2020 when the legislature passes the 25+ "Common Sense Gun Control" laws that have been proposed by the new majority party.

We also are going to be needing a lot of pistol magazines that don't hold more than 10 rounds. But we are no longer interested in S&W or anyone else introducing any darn handy little single-stack 9mm pistols with magazines that hold 12, 13, 14, or more rounds.

Those of you in other states, particularly Texas, North Carolina, Arizona, and Florida, may be in a similar situation pretty soon.

Not to hijack the thread just because I am so disheartened -- but truly, I have seen a lot fewer "SHOT Show rumor" threads this year.

I really think it's a typo. They already make a 9mm Shield. Nothing is gained by making a 9mm EZ.

While it's very possible it's a fake someone made, typo seems out of the question. The barrel hood has 9mm stamped on it, and the product numbers listed in the ad don't seem to correspond to the 380 models.

Pathetic that VA with all it's place in the history of this nation is now being run by disgusting, brain dead liberals. I feel sorry for you and other VA residents who understand and keep firearms. George Washington, Jefferson eta all would be spinning in their graves at this travesty. Scandal ridden Governor and Lt Gov, you ought to fix your own personal problems before legislating for others.

You're way too premature to think TX is going to go for firearms restrictions. Yes, we have our share of a**es in our various governments but voting for tough restrictions in more rural areas means a death sentence for idiots who support the left. Don

Seems that Glock's "Big" announcement today is a .22LR, yawn, snore. I think Glock afficianodos were hoping for a PCC.

I sure hope that S&W's new product announcement expected on Thursday is more exciting than that. Don

Ohhh, I'm still laughing at the Glock hype for their "newest game changer" -- a 7.3" long, 1.3" wide .22 with a 10 round capacity. Call me underwhelmed.

I am also hoping for something more exciting. I want to buy something and the Glock 44 is not it. But I suspect the listing above is real and all we will get is an EZ version of the 9mm Shield. Still hoping for something else but anything I would want is a long shot for the release this Thursday. Maybe something will show up at SHOT. They did say they will be announcing a few new products there.

At least S&W did not hype up the Thursday announcement the way Glock did.

I heard a rumor that S&W will re-introduce its classic revolvers with careful hand-fitting, pinned and recessed, and no ugly hole on the left side. They will try to keep the prices reasonable (under $2,000).

Oh, wait. I just woke up. I was dreaming. I'm so glad I can still find and purchase beautiful and reliable guns made the old way, and that most of them are still affordable...:D

You can purchase tons of attractive new revolvers made out of stronger materials and held to tighter tolerances than the "old stuff" plus you can get fun and beastly revolvers like the 500 and 460 Smiths that would ruin old stuff if they were chambered for them.

Try the trigger pulls on my 2 500s, you will love them. Don

10mm in all varieties would be a nice addition.

I’d also be happy to spend my money on a threaded, 5”, optics ready 2.0.

It makes me happy that there are still fans and buyers of the current S&W offerings in revolvers. :) Just because I had bad luck doesn't mean that everyone has bad luck. :) And it keeps the mothership in business!

But I'll let you keep the 460 & 500 mega-blasters for yourself. At my advanced age with severe hearing loss and my advanced state of decrepitness, I'm lucky if a 38 Special doesn't leave this old man hurtin'! :D

For those who want an M&P PCC, the M&P magazines CAN be modified to work in the Ruger PCC, using the Ruger mag-well insert: Just cut a vertical slot in the upper front of the M&P magazine that measures the same as the Ruger mag from top of slot to top of mag body.

I just went through a 'buying spree' (mostly S&W) and am ready to take a break for a while, but ....

I'm waiting for Ruger to make their PCC in .45acp! But I'm NOT holding my breath.

Understood, however the reality for me is that a range trip where I shoot my 500 means I shoot a couple three cylinder fulls of medium heavy rounds.

I shoot a lot more of my fun handloads, 13-14gr of Trail Boss behind a 320gr hard cast slug. Very gentle and like an oversized .38 Spl. Don

You're just beginning to understand how I feel.
You need to be thoroughly investigated and required to take a training class before you are allowed to take a century old tube feed .22 self loading rifle home and lean it up between your AR-15s and M-14s or what you've got. The rifles you already own are perfectly safe but adding great gram pa's .22 without a wait puts the elementary school kids at grave risk.

Got this today from Grab A Gun:

SMITH AND WESSON M&P9 SHIELD EZ 9MM 3.6" 8-ROUND - NO THUMB SAFETY

$399.99
New Arrival!!

I heard somebody is coming out with a new .22 lr pistol that weighs 24 ounces loaded and pushes a 33 grain solid bronze bullet at 3,000 fps with minimal recoil and muzzle flash. Of course I heard it after drinking 8 White Claws and a half-pint of Hennessey, so I might have heard it wrong.
