On the news yesterday as a video clip of a corrections officer wanta-be (wearing the shirt) near the check-outs at a local walmart - playing with his sidearm - it went off - no one hurt - he got arrested.

It looks likes like Arizona is passing a new law allowing concealed carry without a permit. Makes me wonder how many self inflicted wounds to the legs and groin we'll see on the news...

How much you wanna bet most people just kept shopping? Those Wal-Mart shoppers are serious.

GLOP?
:D:rolleyes:

There are just enough idiots like this to make open carry a very unpopular state of affairs in the mind of the general public. This guy is without a doubt a loser in more ways than one. While they have him in jail, they should render him incapable of breeding.

I read the report in the Arizona Repulsive, er, Republic. It said he had been playing with the gun in several different areas of the store, taking it out, removing/reinserting the magazine several times, etc. They quoted a clerk in the electronics section as saying she was afraid he was going to rob the store, and she called a manager. He apparently kept messing with the gun until he got to the checkout area at the front of the store, where he again pulled it out, removed the magazine, dropped the mag on the floor, picked it up, reinserted it and fired the gun - apparently it was pointed up, so he probably hit the ceiling. As I recall, it was some kind of .380, the rag didn't note the make or model. Stupid gun handling, obviously no training or common sense. Whether concealed or open carry, holstered is holstered, and you don't play with guns. Idiot.

Edited to add: One poster asked if W-M shot back. Actually, there were probably several people in the store who were armed and it is not impossible to imagine that, if he had been acting in a threatening (instead of just stupid) manner, there were more than likely several guns which were ready for deployment, but good sense on the part of those carrying properly saved this guy from a trip to the hospital before jail. I never go anywhere, especially Wally, unarmed, and I know many others here in Arizona who do the same.

Hmmmm wonder if it was a BRYCO 58. Probably not though since when they fire on their own they usually empty the clip.

+1 Mark. It's this kind of carelessness that feeds the anti's fire. Thank God no one was seriously injured, or worse.

Correct me if i'm wrong, isn't pulling your firearm out in public "Brandishing a Firearm", if you do that around here you will go to JAIL for that.

Glad to see no one was harmed because of this MORON'S misuse of a firearm. maybe he should have shot off his little toe to teach him a lesson??

Stupid gun handling makes me

this reject probably just got his first sidearm.
his actions with it beginning to end were not those of one comfortable with an arm.
