Should I......?

I do not understand what`s so hard about keeping a polished finish nice. I found the matt finish is much harder to keep nice since they show every scratch, while the polished ones just need a few minuets with Mothers mag wheel polish. As for changing cylinders thats just silly and a waste of money as well as difficult to do.
Change the grips that makes good sense, leave the rest of it alone , buy more ammo go shoot and enjoy that fine revolver you already have.
Remember : "THE ENEMY OF GOOD IS BETTER"

On my carry snubby, I did a trigger job with a spring change, put on a Pachmayr Compact grip, added a Laserlyte side mount laser, made a few holsters then I shot it lots and carry it always. My wife carries a 4" 66-3 and told me that if I change anything on it, she'll use it on me, she likes it just the way it is and she's a very good shot with it.

Sell it to somone who appreciates revolvers and buy a glock and hack it up because nobody cares.
