I seriously can't believe this thread is still going. Legitimate topics die, but frivolous name and picture threads become immortal.
Call it what you want - anything but "AR" and you're good.
If it were a Colt you could call it "My little pony" lol
Things like this though, you can always add your 2c
Some may consider it a assault weapon because it has a high capacity magazine, collapsible stock, and a pistol grip.
Jelly Bean
But, it's made out of plastic. Even my old Tonka Truck has more metal in it than my 15-22, how can it be called an assault rifle.![]()
Newbie question but does ar mean assault rifle or automatic rifle? Either way it's not one.
Teeny-weeny little evil black assault rifle.
Teeny-weeny?
It's the same size as my son's M4.![]()
Hey now, size doesn't matter...
Classic definition in every state with an assault weapons ban, including where I live. Unlike some states .22s are included in the ban language here.
Gun terminology is like any other language - if you don't know the correct words, how do you intelligently communicate?![]()
To me, a weapon is not an Assault weapon unless it is Fully Automatic or Select Fire. ANY semi-auto rifle is no more dangerous than a normal hunting rifle, although a large magazine in a center-fire rifle may approach it. But... I don't define weapons under the law.

Just curious, would you call a Glock18 an Assault Weapon? It's not a rifle but it is full auto.
That is the actual military definition. But the antis and the new media could not care less.
The actually military term for an intermediate caliber select fire rifle is "Assault RIFLE". This is a rifle that is smaller than a Battle Rifle.
"Assault WEAPON" is a made up term created specifically for the "Assault Weapons Ban" to categorize firearms that had specific features which the writers of the bill deemed scary and supposedly MORE dangerous than "regular" weapons.
It is a redundant term since any object used during an assault is an assault weapon.

There's way too many posts here for me to read through. Could someone please send me a PM when y'all got this figured out.![]()
