And tell me a bit about them!
I have recently been struck with Revolver fever, I had planned as of recently to carry a 686 2.5" in shorts in the summer, and keep carrying my Springfield XDsc in the winter in Jeans. But not anymore! I have fallen in love with my 686 and I am thinking about shedding the XDsc and going all revolver. Though since the 686 is a bit bigger, heavier, and bulky I thought a model 60 would do well for summer carry. Now before we start talking about 640's and other DAO revolvers, I have to clarify that I am a hammer guy and won't shed them. Also, I have shot quite a few airweights and haven't been happy with them, nothing wrong with them I just don't like them. So please, tell me about and show me your model 60.

Not much to tell.Found it in the used gun case when I picked up a 586 that was being repaired.Little did I know the place would become famous..or is it infamous :-D ?

I heard the Wyatt's had their show cancelled and got into some trouble with the IRS over some unpaid taxes and unreported income

That they did. They were accused of not paying taxes for a number of years and having several full auto guns without the correct license.Ownership of the store was also questioned.Dont know how that's played out though.A few days before the raid, someone came in through the roof and made off with several guns.

ROFL this thread just got really interesting! Not exactly what I wanted, but I'll allow it..

You can't make this stuff up :-D.Actually bought the gun just before these folks hit "the big time"
On to the gun.Its a great little shooter, but takes consistent practice to do well with.Shoots target and standard velocity well,+Ps slap the palm a bit.Its a nice little pocket,cc or kit gun.

They are Pachmayrs, but I don't know which model. They look like they've been on there since the 80s.

Edit: did some googling and they look like Compacs.

This one isn't mine, it's from a Google Image search, but I thought the photo was clean and the red ramp insert was rare (probably aftermarket).

I like the original No Dash M60, .38 Special only. The frame is smaller than the current J-magnum frame, and the cylinder sits tight in the cylinder window.

Mine is a 60-7 that I got in a trade deal with my dad. Not much else to say...

Here are a couple of pics of my Model 60 no dash (technically the Wife's 60)...

I bought it used in the mid '80s and it is a square-butt 38 Special only version (no +P).

It made a trip back to S&W in 2012 to have the hammer pivot pin replaced after it sheared off. They had to drill a hole through the left side of the frame and press a new pivot pin in. You can see the hole/pin just below the cylinder release. Overall, they did a great job and slicked up the action before they sent it back. It has Wilson Combat springs in it for a slightly lighter pull.

The gun came with rubber Pachmayr grips which I've since replaced. The first picture shows it with current production S&W grips. The second shows it with aftermarket grips (not sure of the make). I've since modified the second grips by knocking the sharp edges off and giving them a rubbed oil finish. They give me a good purchase and it points much better than with the S&W grips.

Here's some of mine. A 1979-ish, a 1970-ish, and a 1985-- all no-dashes. I bid adios to the last two, but the first one is still with me.
I'm still trying to figure out how to put the last one back together.

Love the model 60! It weighs a little more than my 642 airweight, but still comfortable for pocket carry. In addition, that added heft helps control the gun a little better. It is still a gun that takes practice to shoot well, but definitely a cool gun to add to your collection.
