Wow, I really like these. Are they on the market? Like to get one for my Chiefie.

J Frame Grips That Handle Recoil???

I have a 632 with a 3 inch comped barrel (like the old K-comps). Some of the .327 Federal loads are kind of brisk in a J frame sized gun. Any recommendations for minimal sized wood grips that cover the backstrap without lengthening the grip too much that help you hang on to heavy loads?

Thanks

I created my own thread but i'll add to this one

Altamont Charcoal Ruby boots, love them... here they are on a freshly range used 442... the sun really pops out the color

My 60-15 with after-market combats. Came with the gun (along with the OEM rubbers) but I do not know anything about their provenance.....any ideas?

J-frame grips

The leader on the Ampersand for this post had a picture of a J-frame with a fancy scroll-worked, black and white set of grips. Can anybody tell me where these came from - what shop/person purchased from. I'd like to find a similar pair but have been unable to locate any info. I'm referring to the following grips:

I'd appreciate any help. Feel free to send me a personal message - I'd welcome that. Thanks.

Search Ebay for "smith J Grips inlay". You'll find similar styles.

Does anyone know if there are "Craig Spegel-style" J-Frame grips made out of horn, stag or ivory, produced by ANYONE?

I know there are plenty of small S&W original-style grips by Grasshorn and others, but I'm looking for a grip that doesn't require the addition of a Tyler T-grip or similar adapter.

This thread has such a collection of beautiful grips and guns that I consider it high art and have enjoyed viewing all the posts here.

My own selection for carry grips on my 360PD AirLite was completely made on practicality. The laser was important for my aging eyes, but the recoil cushioning air channel over the backstrap was the primary determinant for my choice of Crimson Trace laser grips.

Recoil from the 11 oz AirLite was very painful even shooting +P .38's. The CT's air channel over the backstrap has made shooting the AirLite tolerable if not comfortable.

At just one pound loaded and in the zytec holster (thinner than leather) the 360PD is nearly always with me AISW carry. It's not an object 'd art but a functional tool.

Such a collection of beautiful grips... High Art !

I just went through this entire thread once again. So many beautiful guns and grips made it worth the trip.

I updated my 360PD AirLite's holster shaving a tenth of an ounce to make it just under a pound to carry loaded and holstered.

Still wearing Crimson Trace for the cushion and laser. Maybe I'll take the stock boot grips off my 640 Pro Series and put something custom on it:

My model 69 also has a laser for my old eyes but also has a FastFire III red dot for long shots.
