My only sub 3" magnum these days is this 66-1 that I bought from a retired State Trooper. It had been polished when I got it, and I haven't decided if I want to leave it this way or try blasting it with the fine walnut shells I bought to do it with.

What a lovely gun. (I'm wearing that same Cabela's orange Benchmade mini-Barrage today.) Man, the problem I have with wearing my blued revolvers hiking is that I worry about sweating all over them (and their wood stocks). Of course, the reason it's a problem is that I carry AIWB. An answer sort of suggests itself, but I wind up just carrying the stainless guns. They're ugly, but if anyone sees them that's not likely to be one of their first complaints.
