Sick Kitty, Update Post 43

Cats really have a wicked sense of humor, don't they.

Pearl thinking: "What can I do to irritate the fool out of him, today?"

I let her get away with breaking a few rules yesterday. Shasta had me worried, I thought she was getting a cat cold. She had the cutest sneezes too--sounding more like a chew--instead of an ACHOO!!.:D Anyway, she stopped sneezing about an hour after I got back home. Turns out that the cause of her sneezing-was a tiny piece of towel lint stuck to her wet nose. I was wondering why she was trying to soak my feet in cat snot? her sense of humor kicked in--she was sliming my feet trying to get rid of that piece of lint.:p

That reminds me of when Zachary jumped up on my wife's lap, looked straight at her and sneezed.
He blew mucus right in her face.
Thought I was gonna hurt myself laughing.
She got slimed.

This is Bob's new spot that he's found to hang out. He started doing this just a few weeks ago.

Our cat Sandy was spending a lot of time curled up in the bottom of the laundry basket.
She seemed lethargic and didn't seem to be eating.

We took her to the vet. He did some tests, took some blood and gave us medicine to give her twice a day and some special food.
Her temperature was 104. Way high for a cat.
They gave us a large syringe to force feed her if needed.
The first coupla days, we did have to force feed her. She didn't like that at all.

After a while, she started eating on her own and her sister Sara shared a meal with her.

She's still not quite herself yet but she does seem to be doing better.

Quite a few years ago I had a cat who wouldn't eat and the vet said that the cat is "shutting down" and that nothing can be done. I didn't accept this dismal prognosis and force fed the cat with a syringe for some time. The cat did recover and live a full year beyond the "shutdown time." Yes, with a little help cats can have several lives.
