Sig P227

LGS had one, first I'd seen for real. Felt good in my hand, not as bulky as I thought it might be. Imagine it would be heavy with a loaded mag inserted. MHO? Too big for CC but that's me. Price tag said $1000, a healthy piece of change, but less than I thought it would be. Much as I wanted to take it home, can't do it just now.

They are hot as pancakes right now. P226 size with 10+1 .45ACP

From what I hear on the inner web it shoots soft and is very accurate. The Indiana state police just chose the P2227 to replace their P220's.

I can't do photos but here is a link:
P227 Nitron

They do seem to be pretty popular right now, and they are close to the same size of the 226; except the grip is a bit wider/bulkier (it was comfortable, though...). Last month I debating on a new 226, or a new 227 for my birthday. I ended up getting the 226.

The bulkiness of the grip was enough to turn me off. Plus, the trigger on the 226 was noticeably nicer (smoother/crisper) than the trigger on the 227. I figured I'd rather go with one of my 1911s for .45... BTW, I have a nice P245, and like it a lot.

Also, the $1,000 that was mentioned seems a bit high. My LGS had the 226 and 227 priced at $839. I'm very happy with the 226, nice gun, and accurate.

That being said, I may end up with one eventually!

I want one too.....bad.

I have an old W German P220 that is in great shape and love the standard trigger on it.

I got to check out a P227 the other day. It had the skinnier trigger which I thought was kind of weird. I'll have to try it again. It was $950...much better deals on Gunbroker.

Shot my friends new 227 last week, He got the one with night sights. Felt good and shot great. No problems at all. The trigger did take a while to get used to as we were also shooting two 1911's. He got it for about $850 OTD.
