I bought one because of the high capacity, small size and the trigger. Glocks have had AD's, believe it or not, even with a trigger dingus.I finally got to handle one in a gun store yesterday. It is a remarkably small package for 10 rounds of 9mm. It fit my hand pretty well like my Kahr CW9, but at $599+taxes...
Still not sure I could carry a gun with that short a trigger and no trigger dingus.
I've never been a fan of manual safeties except on single-action pistols, but to each his own.Sig is telling us that the variant with a manual safety will arrive this fall. Which probably means next February.Regards 18DAI
The Sig does come with two magazines and night sights. Nothing against the Kahr. My EDC for years was the Kahr CM-9, until this baby came along.I finally got to handle one in a gun store yesterday. We have had seven ND's by LEO's in our cleaning room. No fatalities but one guy now has four fingers on one hand. The dingus on the gun is worthless in the dingus in the brain fails to clear the gun before pulling the trigger to remove the slide.
That's awful but might be a good reason for your department to adopt the P365 which doesn't require a trigger pull to remove the slide.
A very interesting and sane response. Their solution, if you can believe it, was to partition off each cleaning station with bulletproof dividers. Glock must have a very strong lobby with LEO agencies. I suspect Sig is rubbing their hands and waiting quietly in the background.
I'll bet that, had S&W brought such a pistol to market before anyone else, it would be saluted here as the holy grail.
Had that been the case, I'd have bought theirs (instead of buying two Sigs).
So how does the Shield differ from the P365, exactly?![]()

I thought I'd mention that I was at a new little shop the day before yesterday. The owner couldn't wait to tell me that he got in a couple of Sig P 365's. They were priced at $550.I finally got to handle one in a gun store yesterday. It is a remarkably small package for 10 rounds of 9mm. It fit my hand pretty well like my Kahr CW9, but at $599+taxes...

Well I finally shot mine and I am going to have to learn a different grip. I think I am holding the thing to tightly. Point of impact was to the left of point of aim. I called Sig customer service and the rep said he had the same problem with his. So next time out I will lighten up on the grip and see how it goes. I did adjust my aim a few degrees right and I was punching out the center of the target. It was very strange to have to aim off center to hit center......
Don't aim at anything but the center of your target. If you are right handed and hitting directly left of center, it could be your tight grip but more likely you are using too much finger on the trigger. If you are using a two hand grip, try applying more grip pressure with your support hand and use the center of the pad on your trigger finger.
