Does anyone know what the thread pitch and size is for a 3rd Generation SA adjustable rear sight base hold down screw?

I don't know offhand but, both Midway & Brownells have them in stock. It's S&W part number 100270000.

Thanks Bill. I have a screw but I am trying to put something together that will replace the rear sight and I want to know what the screw size is so I can use a longer screw in it as a hold down. It seems to be kind of an odd ball size.

Just a thought, when I was recently looking for a replacement and slightly longer machine screw for a grip mod project for my CS9 I found that the big box local home supply store and also one of the hardware stores had a block with all different size diameter holes and thread counts to determine the specs on the screw I brought in.

Well just to finish this thread that I started, I found out that the 3rd Generation rabbit ears adjustable rear sight hold down screw thread pitch is 5X40. And yes Brownells does carry them in the stock length, but if you need something a little bit longer you need to know what size the screw is. These set screws aren't all that difficult to locate, but your local hardware store or chain store is not going to have them because they are an uncommon size. Now the thread is complete!
