Sigma Model Question

Color of the slide. Both are stainless but the allied forces has melonite applied over the stainless.

I guess you didn't get my reply on the subject...

What WildCard said, just a black Melonite finish on the slide, no special markings or anything. I think it looks better, I'm not a fan of two-tone.

Further on that e-mail, Bud's is awesome, I love doing business with them. They have great people in their stores, too.

I think it costs more, just because!

Being an Allied Forces model makes it a little different. If the market will bear a little higher price tag for a special addition, even if it isn't any better, than the manufacturers will certainly charge a little more for it. I like the look of it, myself.

Just my humble opinion

Lee

Strange that the Allied Forces model is now more expensive than the 2-Tone VE. I bought the AF 9VE for $299 w/2 mags, the same price as the 2-tone 9VE a year and a half ago.

Has anyone else noticed that the 2-tone $299 VE has disappeared from Bud's site completely? I can't even find it out of stock.

Same pistol, black slide, not worth fifty bucks to me. I polished the slide on mine and my wife's to a mirror finish. My nephew summed it up, "like puttin' rims on a Yugo". Whatever floats your boat is the way to go! Sigma's are a fine weapon and at absoulute bargain price. The 9VE is Bud's #1 seller and the 40VE is #3. #2 is ....well...#2!

Sale ended it looks like, they're $356 now. It shows the AF for $361, so I guess its either/or now.

Yeah, the ones for $356 are the 10-round CA model, the 16 round 9VE and 14 round 40VE with stainless slides have completely disappeared from the site.

Thanks guys for all your input. I found that the AF has a Melonite coating on the slide. It's suposed to be element resistant. It is another step, but now I see it's now only 5 bucks more on Bud's.
Shooters JAX has Sigmas for $320.00 in both Cals. Looks like thats where I'll end up going.

Thanks Everybody for all your input. I saw that the 299 guns were back on Bud's so I bought one. A 9mm model. It should be here monday of so. I bought the nine for recoil and ammo pricing reasons. I just cant see spending that much for 40 ammo here where I live plus its hardly every on the shelf. 9mm was a better choice. Thanks again to everyone and I'll let you all know how I like it. I've loved my 469 for over 20 years now and I don't expect any disappointment from S&W or Bud's.

Hey guys,
Got my new 9VE on 1/26! Been shooting since with no issues. What a nice shooter! I like it every bit as much as my old 469 plus it strips soooo easy. I just love the trigger! Thanks to all of you who contibuted to my decision. I'm sure I'll have this one for 20 plus years too!

S & W SALE

The SW9VE and the SW40VE are still onsale until April 30th. If you go to S &W web site, it is there under the Sigma Super Deal. They have a link there to show what dealers in your aera are selling the gun. I got the SW9VE, and it is a great gun. I have only put about 700 rounds through it but I have had no problems with it. I just ordered a tactical light and laser for it. Happy shooting everyone!!!!!

Academy has them on sale for 299.99. Bought a 9VE yesterday. The trigger feels good(dry firing). Maybe a little heavy, but not horrible as what others may have described. It's a no-brainer considering the $50 rebate they throw in. I'm headed to the range this weekend. Gotta stock up on ammo.
