Sigma safe for carry?

Hey all. I'm an old timer and very accustomed to revolvers. I've got a S&W40VE that I don't use much but was thinking about whether or not it would be safe to carry.. with one in the chamber. Since there is no safety, it makes me wonder.

I guess the bulk of my question is could someone give me a brief description of how the sigma works internally.

If you load a Sigma fully and throw it out onto the pavement, it will not fire. It has 3 safeties, one that you can see on the trigger to prevent the trigger moving from inertia, a bolt lock on the striker, and the striker is not fully cocked until you pull the trigger mostly back.
It is safer from drop test than a revolver.

But if you pull the trigger, it goes bang every time, so keep your booger hook off the bang switch unless you want it to shoot.

A few have tried to holster it with their finger on the trigger or a retention strap stuck through the trigger guard, and guess what? Pulling the trigger makes it go bang! No system is foolproof to an ingenious fool.

This was really cool. If you check out the rest of the site, there are animations of a Baretta 92 and a S&W Model 66 as well.

Lots of other good information too.
