Many thanks! Put 200 rounds thru it this afternoon. Really like that 16+1 setup. The trigger IS a tad long, and the amount of pressure it requires is more than the shield...but for $289 at academy, I cant complain too much...lol...it does kick some brass in my direction too...one hit me on the forehead...and it's loud...ear plugs are a joke....

Sigma 357

I own and early Sigma 40F purchased 1 month after release in 94, (had two but one was purchased for the "X"), a Sigma 357, a early Used 9C bought for $200 (could not pass up) and a 9VE still new in box that I bought on a whim while I had my FFL.

A side note the 9C was being cleaned after a range trip and after removing the Guide rod assembly, I set it on the table and it went ping. Weird! Now I have a non captured assembly. Oh well parts on the way from the mother ship!

sd9ve owner here.... hands down the best semi auto i have ever owned. i only shoot my hand loads out of it, the trigger smoothed out around 500 rounds, kept it stock till around 1700 rounds then upgraded springs and trigger... at 2300 rounds now.
..... and never had a FTF or Jam... for 325 bucks. CANT BE BEAT!

Update to post above: at 2700 rounds.... Ya havnt shot in a while lol been reloading... Headed to hunting club this coming weekend.. Gonna run 500 rounds thru it in 1 session..... Just in case of Zombies or SHTF lol and I really do like shooting the daggum thing.... I'll post pics and details.... Never shot more than 300 rounds at a time B4

Hi folks, I'm new here, but I have a question. I bought a sd9ve about a year ago and it consistently shoots low. I have had 4 or 5 other people shoot it and they all say it shoots extremely low. Has anyone else had this issue?

Sounds like a point of aim issue. According to others on here, the SD is set up to cover the target with the front sight instead of a 6 o'clock sight picture. Using the 6 o'clock point of aim would cause you to hit low on the target. I cover the target and have no problems.

SD40VE bought just cause it was such a good deal. After 500+rounds I'd carry this weapon if I were still on the job.

SD9VE here in E-Texas.
HD and blinking. Shoot now about 3500 rd all kinds of cheap ammo, never had a problem to fire.
It's almost like in the good old days. Just take a round that said 9 mm and shoot. I don't know what to do to mess it up. May be hammering a 45 in a 9 mm barrel will do it- (just kidding).

Owned my 1st gen Sigma 9mm since 2007. Got it from my step dad. He got it back in 98-99, he said it was a police trade in. Has night sights on it and they still glow too!

Became the proud owner of a new SD9VE on 8-2-2014. Fired the first 100 rounds through it 8-8-2014 with no hiccups/issues at all! The club that I normally shoot at has the pistol range closed, with possibility of not being open again till fall. Gonna have to find somewhere to shoot before I go crazy! :-0

Had the chance to fire another 50 rounds Blazer Brass through the SD9VE last Wednesday. So far, this thing seems to shoot everything with no issues. Hoping to try a few reloads and see how it does. So far, liking it a lot!

SD9VE. First pistol purchase. My dad gave me his old Colt King Cobra 4inch barrel and Beretta 92FS. I like how simple the internals are on this gun. Getting used to the trigger coming from DA/SA Beretta. Trigger pull is not has bad as people say since I have not owned or shot other pistols to notice it. It's a simple polymer gun, lighter than the Beretta, and costs less than the Glock19 or Springfield XD9 I was looking at. Very happy with my purchase.

Now I just have to learn the trigger because my shots are pulling left.

Accessorizing your Sigma/SD Pistol via eBay

I'm a long-time Ebay Seller and Buyer (more of a buyer with 237 items purchased versus 77 items sold), but this is the first time I searched eBay's category for "Shooting Accessories." Given that I have had zero issues with 98% of my 237 purchases since I joined back in April 2000, and have scored some incredible bargains in the process, I have no qualms about recommending it as a known resource for known products offered by other dealers and online retailers.

The downside is that you will always find some sellers asking more than MSRP for their wares, so the way I shop is to do a specific search and sort the results from low to high, working my way up the price ladder until I find something I want to buy now or bid on.

As far as gun accessories go, it is easier to visit eBay first because of the greater variety and selection of items that don't require the visitor to go hopping from one section of a website to another.

My current interest is in finding an add-on grip for the SD9VE. Needless to say, i found a wide assortment of options that I didn't find on traditional online websites for guns like CheaperthanDirt or on meta-search sites like Gun-Deal and slickguns, as well as on large sporting goods chains like Academy, Cabelas, Dicks, and GanderMountain.

A "Shoppers Guide" section (for everything but guns and ammo) might be a helpful addition to the forum. It could save a member from having to post a WTB ad in the classifieds if he or she were able to locate it on eBay.

The "Guide" wold also be useful in helping owners choose from among a number of competing products - such as the many choices found under "Cleaning products" - especially the wide range of products offered by Hoppes.

Besides looking for a grip, i was also interested in seeing what they had available in holsters should I get the notion to carry an SD.

Many products will say, "Will fit Glocks" and then rattle off a list of their model numbers. Asking a retailer if that Glock holster will work with your SD will usually get you an "I don't know." On the other hand, the eBay seller would be able to answer the question having sold hundreds of the same holsters to SD owners.

It's just a thought I had.

Although I have retired back to Oklahoma I ordered an SD9VE CA compliant gun through Bass Pro. Took some effort to get them to change their standard practices but they did.

I like the added safety features of the CA version and it will allow me to very safely leave a round in the chamber and the magazine partly out for my wife who may not be able to rack the gun when necessary.

I guess they are not clear in the S&W website-

1. Trigger disconnect if magazine not in.
2. Tactile (pop up) round in chamber indicator, can feel in the dark.
3. Ten Round Magazine (Not a safety feature, just a CA requirement. I don't mind but do have some 16 round magazines to facilitate efficient range time.)

Since the gun will live most of it's time in a drawer these will be helpful. Also, I can leave a round in the chamber with the magazine partially out and my wife won't have to be able to rack the slide, just push up the magazine to change the gun from a super safe condition to a firing condition in an instant. As for me, I sometimes get up in the morning to find that I had turned a computer off but left a printer on. With the round in chamber indicator I can understand the guns condition in the dark. Although I have a concealed carry license I don't expect to use it in ordinary situations.

I have previously posted that in our very safe new neighborhood we have had a knife killing, a gun event tnat includes shots that hit a front yard, followed by a suicide. The beheading at the food plant was 2 miles from our home, and my post about Real Life self defense described a defensive killing last week, 18 miles from here.

The magazine safety system adds several parts to the sear block assembly. Scott of Apex says they are planning a new video to cover installation of their spring set on the CA guns.

SW40V owner here. Bought in 1999. Not my favorite gun by any stretch. But it's okay for the range and as a drop gun. Matte finish slide with black polymer lower.
