I'm new to the Sigma Series handguns. Has a Sigma Series handgun in either 9MM or .40 ever been shipped with a factory mounted laser sight?. The reason I ask is that a friend of mine says he can get a Sigma Model SW9VE with what appears to be a factory mounted laser NIB for $375.00. Can anyone on this forum confirm this and is the price quoted is on par with what these pistols usually sell for?. TIA for any answers, Regards Gary

What brand is the laser unit? What is it about the laser that ". . . appears to be factory mounted. . . "?

It can be hard to to tell what is factory mounted. I recently purchased a new car-- I had the dealer remove the factory mounted wheels and tires and replace them with different one. Really, with respect to the mounting, I could not tell the difference between the factory mounting and the dealer mounting.

S&W does sell laser sights for the Sigma; I suppose if one ordered the pistol and sight together, S&W might mount the sight. Would it be any different or better than an after-market one: No, not at all.

If your not in a hurry to get a laser sight I would wait until the end of July early Aug. I spoke with Viridian about the C5 and C5L series and asked if they had a rail set for the sigma series. They stated they are in the process of manufacturing the rails and they should be available at that time. Hopefully that is correct and they didn't just give me the run around but figured I'd pass along the info to fellow sigma owners who might be looking but are not in a hurry. If any1 gets a different aswer from Viridian please post on the forum.

I think you may be refering to the crimson trace laser that goes around the trigger guard. I think its pretty cool looking.

I've not seen any laser for the Sigma that I like better than that CT. It adds zero to the width of the pistol-- unlike ANY thing that will attach to the rail. I use the TDR and it works just fine (the CT was not available when I got the TDR). I don't carry the Sigma so the extra width does not bother me; and I'm not sure it would bother me a hundred dollars worth anyway . . . :)
