Hey, has anyone here put one of the Wolff Guide rod and Spring sets on their Sigma 9VE?? I ordered one from Midway.. Comes as a set with a metal guide rod and springs.. Well, the rod they sent is 1/4" longer than my 9VE stock rod, and the bags tag says it's #52216 for the Sigma full size F series only?? Mines a VE series (full size obviously) So, did they send me the wrong set, or do they even make a set for the VE series? Or am I supposed to live with the guide rod sticking out 1/4" from the slide? Thanks for any info from anyone who's actually put a rod/spring set on a Sigma 9VE..

Sounds like a set-up for the F series Sigma. When you return it, consider forgetting all about it. The stock spring guide/spring assembly should last a long, long time. I have an original 9F which I've shot the snot out of (who knows how many rounds the previous owner put through it) and a used 40VE. I bought a new 9VE last year which I sold. I don't see any indication the plastic guide rod spring assembly has any weakness. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Waste of money.

I've never seen an original die on the range. I've seen the metal replacements fail and lock up the gun both in practice and competition..

Suggest you get a factory replacement and keep it for a spare. If you see any sign of detrioration, replace it.

Thanks for the info fellas! Wish I'd of asked now, before ordering... I'd of not even bothered getting the metal guide rod. (the rod is all I wanted, but they said ya have to use their spring too) But anyway, I saw on the wolff site that they had them for the VE "and" the F series both.. Dont know why Midway would carry the one and not the other, but sounds like it may be a blessing in desquise anyway.. Think I'll trade it back in on a "Rock Jr." pistol rest instead, and keep my Sigma stock!
