Sizing and lubing cast bullets. *Updated 3\11*

OK here are the bullets I cast yesterday, about 300 of them!!

Is it a problem if some lube gets in the crimp grove?

Lube in the crimp groove is not usually a problem. It can make the loaded round messy if it happens and you should adjust your sizer to avoid it.

Here is a video that I made while lubing some bullets on my Lyman #45. There is an adjustment that can be made to keep the lube out of the crimp groove. UNLESS your driving band is too small for the sizing die that is. If you need help adjusting your system, send me a pm and I will try to dig up some more information.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Skip and Mark, but I am pan lubing them. Not much got in the grove, but there is only .055 distance between the grease grove and the crimp grove so it's a tad tricky. I don't think it should matter, but thought I'd ask.

Tell Sackett;
I use Lars White Label Carnauba Red with great success with all of my pistol and revolver loads. At any rate, you can buy most of Lars lubes at $1.65 per tube if you get them in a ziplock bag instead of a plastic tube. I actually PREFER plastic bags. I buy a quantity when I get it also. It saves on shipping.
