Couldn't decide what profile to use on a fresh build so I decided to incorporate both! The balance feels great and visually it adds a nice contrast. Just waiting for the internals and cylinder to come back from Tin and DLC surface treatments and this build is just about complete. Just in time for Christmas 🎄.

Will need a range report with pictures when it is ready.

Stay tuned for test results! Preliminary results (I always test the blanks before finishing) were as expected!

These are the test results fired from my accuracy fixture at 54 yards.

I like the profile and that is amazing accuracy for a revolver.

I do have a couple questions.

The photo showing the barrel extension makes the forcing cone look like a funnel. If that just excess waiting to be trimmed off when cylinder is fit?

Where did the sight set up come from?

I keep thinking of making a PRC type bull barreled revolver in 45 ACP

"Accuracy Fixture"? Ransom Rest?

"Accuracy Fixture"? Ransom Rest?

Well it started life as a Ransom Rest…. Now it's a Roly Rest;)
I've retained the frame of a Ransom rest but have machined my own barrel holding fixtures. I also have fixtures to hold Semi Autos by their frame or Pic rail. Once I started using these fixtures I was able to duplicate results. Anyone who has used a Ransom Rest understands the frustration in trying to duplicate results from session to session.

The forcing cone is to spec for an 11 degree lead. The sight rib is a Korth Super Sport 4 position. They are no longer manufactured as they are cut directly into their frames now. This was the last one available from the factory….I actually bought it off their demo gun!

Must be the camera angle and shine causing the forcing cone to look wide angle.

I keep looking for a sight setup. Once I find one I am going to make my version of one

I like the concept but I'll need to see the finished product to decide on looks. That target is mighty impressive.

Hers a few mock up pictures of the finished product. I still need to final polish the metal work but you get the vision.

Looks like 148 HBWC holes. Is that what you're using? I'm curious about the bullet diameter with a 356 groove.

Nope haven't used HBWCs in years. 100gr hi-tek coated SWC's is my bullet of choice for 50 yard accuracy. This barrel rifling combo loves them. I size them according to my cylinder throat size.
.358" bullets in a .357" throat into a .356" barrel is a winning combo.

Hello Roly,
Can you rlaborate on the duplication frustration? I understood that the Ransom Rest is the standard of accuracy testing. Do you use a trigger-pulling mechanisme id do uou shoot by hand (finger)?
Kind regards from Holland,
Frits
