Slab sided barrels!

I'm going to take a bold stand!

I like both the round and the slab shaped barrels.

But the unfluted cylinders? Nah.

I never had any desire for any. I prefer traditional revolvers. (you know what I mean) Anyway, at the March gun show something drew me over to a dealers table. 686-6, 5" Pro-Series. My 1st 7 shot, and 5" revolver. I REALLY LIKE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT! (not I.L. really) It is a pleasure to shoot. I traded my last poly bottom feeder and some cash for it. Makes me wonder if I need a 986 too? Bob

When I was young and we'd go out my friends and I,they'd set their radars on blondes with blue eyes(and I won't mention the other attributes they were looking for)while I was geared more towards black haired green eyed girls.Like they say, different strokes for different strokes.
For me,it is black haired...eeerr!I mean round barrels but I don't object to slab sided;but I don't care for the slanted up lug.

Here is a slab side you won't see in the catalog. I built this 29 as a hunting gun back in the late 70's. I was building a lot of slab sided PPC revolvers back then so I thought I'd build a "big Boy". This started life as a Model 28. Fitted a 29 cylinder and Douglas barrel to it and put a lug on it. 7.5 inches. Shoots very well.

Who says that slab side S&Ws are something new?
Dan Dwyer of San Diego built this 44 Special 28-2 many years ago.
Just sayin'
