I have a SlideFire for my 15-22. I purchased it about 6 months ago. It is the kit with the trigger, reverse muzzle brake, etc... Mine works fine with bulk ammo. I don't have a suppressor so I don't have any idea how it would work with one, and I have no real reason to use subsonic ammo, so again, I have no idea how it would work.

What I do know is that on a 15-22 with all of the parts of the kit installed, and a clean gun the thing works as intended. It is lots of fun!

The only thing that I don't like about it is when you have the stock installed, but use it locked in place for single fire only, the hand grip and trigger finger placement is a bit awkward. Because of that awkwardness I only install the SlideFire when I am specifically planning on using it for more rapid fire.

I see SlideFire has greatly reduced their prices. I bought mine about two years ago, and it was $360, for the stock only. Now the list price is $280. So the 22 kit is not a bad price which includes the reduced pull weight trigger and the "so called" recoil enhancer. However all you need is the stock and some JP light weight springs, to reduce the trigger pull weight. I have the stock and reworked the trigger pull to 2.5 pounds. My 15-22 works perfectly with the SlideFire stock, after some practice with learning how much forward pushing pressure is needed on the hand guard. I use the same stock with my AR15 and AR10 and both worked perfectly, without requiring a learning period, as they both have more recoil.

I do not use a suppressor or subsonic ammo, so can not advise.

I wonder if this Bumpfire Systems stock is decent at all?

BUMP FIRE SYSTEMS

Right now it's listed at $99 on their site. Would probably still need a decent trigger to make it work well.

It looks like it should work just like a SlideFire brand stock. I don't know if the Bumpfire would work on an AR with an enhanced, or enlarged, style trigger guard. The 15-22 also has an enlarged trigger guard. The pictures on the Bumpfire website only show a straight trigger guard. This could be a problem. I believe that the early SlideFire stocks had a problem with enlarged trigger guards. I believe that SlideFire has redesigned all of their current production models to deal with this problem, but I don't know for certain. I know that my SlideFire works on my 15-22 MagPul edition, and also fits my AR with a MagPul MOE enhanced trigger guard.

I had a Gen 1 slidefire that had to be modified to work with the 15-22. Slidefire Co. replaced that stock for me with a current generation and it works great on my SBR 15-22/15-22p.

I will echo a post above saying that I only use it when I am planning on bumpfiring. It's not very comfortable when shooting normally.

I just received a bumfire stock. Be advised they only come in one flavor. Right hand, and universal fit as to commercial and mil-spec. There is a screw adjustment for this though. I haven't tried mine but it looks like my slidefire stock. A guy on slickguns has a video and there is another guy that states his works wit a stock MOE 15-22. The stock looks like the original slidefire stock not the newer one.

I installed one on my brothers PSA AR 556 with enhanced trigger guard
Its pretty much a copy of the slide-fire brand with less quality, looks great but needs some modification to work.
I had to trim and sand lots of material to allow the stock to slide freely on the Mill spec buffer tube.
He just tested it the other day and had problems the latch/switch that sets it from fixed to bump fire came apart
I haven't seen it yet but after talking to him it sounds like it can just be reassembled and adjusted.

That $99 deal has a time limit then it goes up to I think $159
The original style Gen 2 Slide fire can be had for $200 (Buds had some good prices on just the stock or stock kit's right and left hand)

My slide-fire (original style gen 2) works pretty good on my 15-22 I run a CMC 3 1/2# trigger and slide-fire recoil enhancing brake
Its a little finicky and requires some technic, gotta keep the gun clean and the buffer tube lubed

The real fun is my slide-fire installed on my BCM AR, It works Flawless Everyone that has shot it loves it.

I have to get for my AK

I sent them a question Tues about whether it would work with enhanced/enlarged trigger guards, and also if they had any testing or trials with 22LR AR's... they state on their website they answer questions same day, but no reply yet.

Both Slide-fire Gen 2 and Bump fire systems stocks work with Magpul enhanced trigger guards on standard AR lower and the M&P 1522 trigger guard

They sent me a video with in an hour of a 15-22 bump fire shooting. Looks like it worked great.

I don't know how to post it

For $99, I would suggest the BumpFire stock. I would bet it is a close knockoff of the SlideFire stock. That is the problem with patents, they are fairly specific, and if minor changes are made to the original design, they can make a similar product, plus for SlideFire, trying to fight patent infringement is very expensive with high legal fees. You might see the price of the SlideFire drop even further as $99 beats $280 by a long shot.

Unless it is a real piece of junk, you could not go wrong for $99. The videos show it working well.

Got the slide fire w/ cmc trigger and recoil enhancer in today. Only a couple mags through, but works ok with subsonics. Better with bulk but still tons a fun. Little bit of a learning curve, but after a mag or 2, getting the hang of it. Gonna be expensive either way!!!
Next will be a suppressor, but will take a while. Let you know in 2015!

Before getting the suppressor, I would suggest a new thread asking if any have tried using a suppressed 15-22 with the SlideFire. I know that suppressors reduce recoil, and lack of recoil is the major issue when using a bumpfire style stock on a 22.

Hi: I realize the thread is a month old,But I just went out and tested subs with 2 different cans, The slidefire did not work with them. Fed bulk through the slidefire with can works but obviously they are supersonic. There may be away around it. Aguilla makes the 60 gr load ( which I was going to try but could not find my last box). WARNING:##** some suppressor manufacturer tell you NOT to use it with their suppressors!!! I will NOT suggest that you do. That said from a purely "theoretical" point of view, the 60 gr may produce greater momentum and allow it to work, or it could destabilize and hit a baffle and cause damage to can, baffles, firearm, space/time continuum, I do not know and wold NOT suggest you try. Be Safe,

Rimfire suppressors are quite often not rated for sustained rates of fire. Has to do with materials used in construction, aluminum tubes as opposed to stainless steel tubes. While .22 rimfire is not considered a high pressure round, lots of them thru a suppressor can over-pressurize an aluminum "can" and cause it to burst. Not a good thing. If you want to shoot a "can" on a 15-22 w/ a bump stock, I recommend at least a 5.56 full auto fire rated one, just to preclude any problems. AND you can use it on your 5.56 rifle, too. W/ a bump stock, too! Fun and expensive, w/o a doubt!

Bob,

It sounds like what you've done is what I hope to do; it seems to be the cheapest means, by far.

I just have the 15-22 w/ magpul furniture as of now... Would like to know more about the JP springs you installed to make your rifle function well while bump-firing.

Is this the correct set? JP Rifles

The springs look correct, to match what I have found there to be within the rifle. I will be attempting this with the $99 bump fire systems stock and just need to make a light enough trigger.

Thanks, in advance
Evan
