"Slide Fire" on the 15-22?

If memory serves correct, that was the akins or atkins, something like that, accelerator. It did exactly that, accelerate the rate of trigger pull. When you made one rotation of the crank, it pulled the trigger multiple times so it wasn't truly one pull by you. The slidefire is legal because your finger is what's actually hitting the trigger, it's just inertia and your opposing forward force that makes you pull it very rapidly.

It doesn't matter if one rotation pulled the trigger 100 times - it was (and is) still just one round fired for each pull of the trigger.

Just like the SlideFire - neither gives you full auto.

And for the record, the crank thing is called the BMF Activator. I think it's solely for the 10/22's tho. You can find them on gunbroker for like 20 bucks.

You can put one on any semi-auto. There was a guy at the range this morning that had one on a 9mm carbine.

I had a crowd watching me shoot my Slide Fire modded 15-22 yesterday. Had a Black Dog drum attached. Shooting CCI Mini Mags is a dream. 600 rnds in no time :)

A buddy of mine has a model 1928 Thompson sub machine gun. Its worth about $20,000.00. After shooting that, a bump fire/ slide fire .22
just wouldnt cut it. Half the fun of full auto is just trying to control the gun, and the thrill comes from feeling that recoil push you back, and seeing the flame shoot out of the barrel and cutts compensator. There is no way a 22 could even compare, so I have no desire to get one for my 15-22. Now if you never shot full auto I could see wanting something like this, but it really is a poor substitute. Shot a BAR and an MP-40 couple of times too at a show. had to pass on the flame thrower..cost too much to shoot

You don't have to put it on the 15-22, it's just cheaper. I agree with the fun being trying to control it and all the gas blowing back in your face.

I've found that using the mini mags with the slide fire is a dream also. Federal 40 work well also. fed 36 not so good. Can't wait to get my drum and find some more mini mags.

Nor sure I agree. I've shot a $20K MP5 and my Slide Fire MP15-22 is just as fun and a heck of a lot cheaper.

slide fire

just finishing up a build on the 15-22 with a slide fire, installed the CMC trigger and purchased a "reverse" muzzle brake from weaton arms.took a few try"s to get it to function, theres a little technique to get her going..lots of fun, but the down side is ive got around $1100 in this thing, ( cost of the rifle, trigger, slide fire, brake),,,,,and with 22 ammo going thru the roof, dont know if i did the right thing or not. take a look on u-tube, look for weaton arms vidieo on the hole process of the build.

Tuff times for sure Now....

im even concerned that my 7k rds will last me long enough.....

You shouldnt really need the revearse muzzle brake if youve got the right trigger and technique. My 15-22 has no threaded barrel and thats the model I was told worked best with slide fires because of less weight without the brake. I used a Rock River 2 stage trigger off another AR I had and it works fine. Initally it would only do 3 to 5 round bursts until I began gripping it in the magwell area. I added a FAB defense magwell grip to remind me where to grip it, and push forward with my thumb on the rail. It seems to have got easier because now I can do full mag dumps regardless of where I grip it and thats with a red dot, magnifier, Arms folding front sight, Troy battlesight rear folder, Daniel Defense rail sling mount, magpul ladder rail covers, and the threaded barrel adaptor with an A2 flash hider and crush washer. Maybe my techniques improved or some kind of "break in" has occured but it seems to run fine with just about any ammo. I dont do drum mags but two of the plinker tactical 35 round mags taped together dont seem to stall it either and fully loaded thats alot of wieght.

Wow! That is a lot of weight. Impressive that you can regularly mag dump with that setup.

Anything below 1100 fps will not run in my setup. I have a 15-22 that was actually modded by SlideFire themselves.

CCI standard velocity and Aquila SSS 60Gr or Wolf .22lr are a no go. Nada..not even a two round burst.

CCI 36gr 1285fps mini mags flow like silk :) Federal 36Gr also run well. Golden Bullets will also fly out of the barrel until they inevitably glitch.

I have stocked CCI mini mags and now run them almost exclusively.

My technique is decent but could use a little work. I have a front grip which I have learned to merely tug forward rather than actually grip.

I recently bought a M&P 15-22 with a slide fire stock installed from the factory.

It is product code 811033 and has a sticker on the outside of the
box " SFS Firearms SBS RH BLK "

It works well right out of the box and seems to be even more
effective with my Coastal Hornet 22 rimfire suppressor mounted
on the threaded barrel.
It of course ,likes high velocity ammunition.

For those keeping track the serial prefix is 'DZY' and the julian date
is '2311 ' which would put production about October 2012.

Good luck,

Allen Frame

Allen,

This was installed by SlideFire not S&W. It should also have their 3.5# trigger and the reverse muzzle break. S&W never sold a factory installed Slide Fire model (AFAIK).

Did it come with a muzzle break that you removed for the suppressor?

Tom

I'm about 90% sure SlideFire sold that as a product at one time but it has been pulled now. I remember seeing it a while back but it doesn't appear to be on their site any longer.
