Slide trouble

I have a M&P22 took it apart to clean cannot get the slide to go back on. Goes back on without the spring in place but not with. Any help would be great

I don't have an M&P22 yet, but have found several good videos on Youtube. maybe check some of the reassembly videos to see if you're missing a step. It looks pretty straight forward, is the disassembly lever in the correct spot? It flips down and then pulls out about 1/2" from what I've seen. Hope you get it sorted out.

Make sure the recoil spring guide rod piece isn't upside down or sideways or whatever. There's one correct orientation.

I agree with MyDads38 and Mce. Those are 2 good points. I would also make sure the bushing that receives the spring is installed correctly. Also the hammer should be cocked and the slide pulled completely to the rear before pushing down. As said, YouTube vids explain it well.

Yeah got it the wife actually noticed that indent on that spring bushing. I stand corrected!

I was about to tell you to check the spring bushing. Glad your problem is over.
