anyone have a remedy for light to no strikes on ammo? i have tried it all except a different firing pin spring. when it was first installed i ran close to a thousand rds with little to no problems at all. several mag dumps with no glitches, then slowly it kept slowing down to about 4-6 rds then stops. cleaned rifle very well, lightly lubed the bolt rails, cleaned the bolt and in the breach area extremely well also. still have a heck of a time running a full mag thru. all sorts of ammo tried (standard to hyper)....it ran its best on cheap fed bulk  figure that out. this also has the 3lb timney drop in which makes it a very nice set up. anybody been thru this and find a solution....sure was fun while it lasted! would love to get it going again.

thanks in advance

Maybe the MAGS

My 50rd Drums are PERFECT and have a much TIGHTER spring in em.... but a few FTF's on S&W Mags... and i have 19 of em...

maybe a GOOD cleaning of yer mags may help... or try a couple rebuild KITS, mark THOSE mags.... and LET ME know if it works:D

I had quite a few FTF's considering in over 3000rds never had 1 prior to Timney Trigger.... So must be the RAPIDITY of the LEAd LAUNCHING that has its effect on FTF's or Light Strikes...

My thoughts anyways

thanks for mag tip. that ran thru my mind a few times but the springs in the mags seemed to be moving very freely, didn't noticed any rough spots while running the assist button a few times on each one. 22 ammo does throw a lot of junk out though. i'll give that a try and report back, never know....stranger things have happened!
if you don't mind where did you get the best price on your drum? been thinking on one of those for a while but just wanted to see where this slide fire was going before i get any deeper.

One person I know of had a similiar problem. When cleaning, he discovered his firing pin had broken. He would get some fires then it got worse, just like yours.
Hope this helps.

cleaned mags, FP and spring made it about 50% better, will fire 10 rd mags flawless. pin was gummed up pretty bad as was the spring. ordered new firing pin, spring and roll pin...gonna change em out, seemed like things improved with cleaning and the old pin did look abused. if no improvement not a bad ideal have replacement parts on hand.

thanks to all for the links, going to put an order in at joe bob's for a drum......be nice to have one. never know what the aftermath of nov 2012 will bring.

try a different trigger. i've put several thousands of rounds through my 15-22 with slidefire and have only had one FTF. even with the crappiest ammo. the geissele hits those primers HARD!

New springs come to mind. Perhaps the rapid cycling took the temper out of the springs, just like when you take a piece of wire and bend it back and forth rapidly till it breaks. You won't likely get light to no primer strikes with a bad magazine.

Hobie
