I was looking at a S&W 99. It is the bigger model, not the compact model.
The price is 300.00, and it looks in good shape.
I have checked on this forum, and have found much information about the 99.
I have a couple of questions.
Would this be a good carry gun?
Even though it is a Smith, does it really only have a 1 year warranty?
How is the trigger pull on these? Is it better than the Sigma?
Any information would be appreciated.

The S&W-99 is basicly the same as the Walther P-99, while the P-99 had a one year warranty the S&W is a lifetime. It is definitely a step above the Sigma. S&W offered them in a DAO and a DA/SA version. Not too big for carry and light weight, they seem to be going for some pretty good prices right now.

I see that SW in conjuction with Walther are marketing
the PPS a very slim semi auto. I recently purchased one after waiting sometime. It is a good little pistol capable of 5" groups at 15yds and what appears the have a trigger much like the Glock. I have read some posts that they have had some slide problems. Anybody with info I would like to hear from. It is a easy front pocket ccw. The mid sized mag makes for easy control. I have only shot 100 rounds but don't want to carry something that does not go bang..George...retired LEO

The S&W 99 is a great carry gun, fairly light and not boxy like those "other" plastic guns! I have them in 9 and 45 and a Walther P99c in 9 and there is no way I'd ever sell them. IMO there a better gun then the M&P which I had three of and sold two. Only reason I keep the third is that I had a trigger job done.

I have a NIB, first year production SW99 in .40 for sale in the Classifieds. Someone make me an offer.

Shameless plug!

I shoot both a S&W Model 99 and Walther P99QA in IDPA matches. Both guns are extremely reliable and surprisingly accurate considering their short barrel length. If the gun's size gun ones needs then the S&W 99 would be superb for concealed carry. I prefer a pocket gun so I choose either a S&W 642 or a Kahr PM9 both of which have less capacity than a S&W 99.

The S&W 99 is a great carry gun. The grip ergonomics are superb. I have and carry the Walther P99 in 40. Vertualy the same gun. The Smith carrys a lifetime warranty and the customer service is the best.

I picked one up for $279 this past spring. It's been very reliable. It has a much better trigger than the sigma. I would get rid of my sigma before the 99.

If you like the P99, the SW99 is a P99 with an actual warranty. I've been looking at P99s but am reconsidering after being told by Walther that they actually hold customers to the one year warranty. I'm unimpressed by their lack of standing behind their product when S&W stands behind its mechanical twin.

Wow! u guya are gettn great prices on a SW99, wont see that in these parts.
