Smith and Wesson shield in stock

Do you have the details on what that would take? I didn't see anything that cheap. It sounded like it was more than just changing a spring.
Where are you seeing this? I'm assuming the change will be similar to FS M&Ps for the mag disconnect.

gp to gunsamerica.com for shield. they have 9 mm and .40, but they come and go quickly, some on auction basis, some as ads for sale. also prices are all over the place. you will not probably get one for under $600 NIB, and if you do, id question the seller. read rules for using the site, but they do have them, as well as other makes in sub compact--sig and glock.

Yep..9mm shield ordered at G&R. Finally.

Are they pretty quick at getting things out?

$449+tax for 9mm after less than a week of active searching. Seems as though most of the shoot straight stores in the Tampa area are getting 6-12 shields every couple of weeks. Store I bought from got 8 9mm in and I was able to snag the last one the day after the shipment arrived. They're out there, just have to be diligent.

Ordered mine from D&L on the 9th. Got a call on the 11th saying the FFL didn't come through and they could only hold it so long (already charged my card) due to space. Had my LGS resend the FFL same day. They shipped on the 18th (so much for lack of space...) and it arrived either the 20th or 21st.

Other than the first call, they were nice enough and always answered questions.

Ordered mine (9mm) the 5th of March. On March 19th I got call from LGS/FFL dealer it was there. Now I think the first time I requested FFL license to be sent there might have been an issue with my LGS and it didn't happen, not sure but did a follow-up and I am guessing they sent it again. Regardless, that is 14 days total which I am not complaining about when many are still searching .... I am happy with D&L's handling..... and the price was $439 +$25 for shipping. Many are paying more, some paying less .... still I am satisfied with their handling and would purchase from them again. :)

For those of you who ordered through D&L - how long did it take from order time to getting it at your FFL? Just curious.

Hey Fir3hawk go back a page or two and you can read my blow by blow on what happen to me. Sort of like the poster above who said D&L never received his FFL info the first time. They also stated that they had a wrong phone number for me so they couldn't reach me. Other than all of that, which may have been true, they did have the Shield I wanted at a decent price and I eventually got it. Thanks D&L!

When you order from D&L, do you put the FFL information in the "ship to" address?

yes you will have to have them ship it to your FFL. You'll also need to get a fax or email for D&L so your FFL can send over their FFL information.

yeah I was just making sure the turnaround time was good because it seemed like it there were a few who were waiting a while. I ordered my FS .40 online and when I did that I called the gun shop, got their fax. Called my FFL and had them fax it. An hour later I called the gun shop and he didn't receive it. Called my FFL back and they refaxed. Called the gun shop back and I was good to go. Just got to keep on them!

Anyways see above.. D&L only had the MA shield 9 in stock I ordered from Gander Mountain tonight.

Green Top Sporting in Ashland, VA had Shield 40's in stock as of Fri ~ $430. They had gotten a number of 9 mm in but sold out quickly.

It took exactly one week in my case. Order was placed via D&L website on March 13 and received an immediate receipt confirmation via email. Called my FFL and had him email paperwork to D&L that same day. Received a call from D&L on 17th (Sunday afternoon), said they were processing my order but did not have my FFL paperwork and couldn't proceed until they received it. I told them FFL name and that it was emailed to them same day order was placed. They found it in their email spam folder, said all was in order and the Shield would be shipped the next day. They charged the purchase to my credit card late Sunday. Wednesday morning (21st) my FFL called to say he had received it. Picked it up later that afternoon.

D&L customer service was worst of all time but I received my shield 7 business days after ordering online with no problems. If you want to get a hold of them on the phone or email them, good luck.

Not sure how other shops are, but I found them to be helpful and not rude. I'm sure that they were pretty busy and hounded by calls about "where is my firearm", so that makes business a little frustrating and irritating for the employees. I hope those of you whom hounded them doesn't make them change their business model. Many LGS's refused to ship out of state.

I ordered on a Monday. My FFL and them got it worked out by that Friday. They shipped my firearm out on the following Thursday. My FFL got it in on Monday afternoon. I got the call on Wednesday. 2.5 weeks from ordering to delivery.

Of course, the fact that they had to ship a lot of Shields (and other things) probably did not help in making their service/turnaround/approach-ability better. Nevertheless, I got nothing but response from them and thank-you's.

I'd do business with them again.

For those who ordered from GandR Tactical, what's the process been like? I ordered on Saturday around noon and haven't heard from them. I'm sure its due to it being a weekend, but it would be great to have an idea of what to expect based on your experience.
Thanks!

Picked up Shield 9 mm from my LGS last week. Highly recommend Shoot Straight in Lakeland, FL!! They had fast shipping to my LGS -- only took a week. Thorough, great customer service, and helpful. Absolutely love the Shield. I bought it sight unseen, and couldn't be happier.
