Smith and Wesson shield in stock

I am a new member. I just ordered my shield in 40 cal from D & L tonight. I was told it was an 8 day wait for shipping. I'll be waiting impatiently.
Why would you be apprehensive about G&R Tactical? Every story I have heard about them has been good and everyone has received their gun within a week. I ordered mine from them on a Saturday and it was ready for me to pick up at my LSG on that following Thursday. UPS can't teleport it to you.
I just checked back with Kittery and the Shield I ordered, last Friday, shipped today and will be at my LGS, tomorrow! Yeah!
By the way, the folks at Kittery Trading Post are wonderful to deal with, they said, once the news hit the S&W Forum that they had Shields, they were inundated with calls, they even ran out of shipping boxes for pistols, but they were happy they could oblige and ship these pistols out to all of us out here, searching hi and lo.
Anyway, thanks to this great forum, I'll have a M&P Shield 9mm, tomorrow.

Just thought I would post up that my Shield did not arrive today as planned. I called Kittery and they said they were a day or two out with shipping, no big deal to me. But, the guy also said they sold 500 Shields in 3 1/2 days!

I looked on Kittery website yesterday and saw that they had 4 in stock. I was happy... until I called yesterday. They had already sold out. Does anyone know how often they re-stock?

welp i finally bought mine yesterday m&p9 shield $452.04 out the door. was that a fair price for a m&p9 shield?

Does anyone here have industry insight? Between S&W and the LGS or online retailer, how many middle men are there? Is it only S&W --> distributor --> retailer, or can there be multiple distributors? How is alotment determined? It gets old reading where these online places sell 100, 200, or 500, yet a LGS can only get 1-2 per week.
When I ordered mine, I was 6th-7th in line. Two weeks later, I was #3 in line. Nice progress! Two weeks later, #2 in line. Slowin' down! Now I can't get any update at all. I've been #2 in line for 3 weeks now. If I had it to do over again, I'd bitten the Apprehension Bullet and ordered online for the first time. Regardless, it seems LGS's are getting a raw deal.

I have wondered that too. How is it that Kittery (which I will watch and order from them when they get more) can order hundreds at a time and a Big Box Store like Academy Sports and Outdoors can never get them in?

Just checked Shoot Straight Lakeland's Facebook page and it stated they have shields in 9 and 40. I bought a 9mm shield a little over two weeks ago and they were great to deal with. They ship to your FFL. I hope this helps someone.

I contacted them and they told me they are only selling in store at this time. Seriously?

I just tried to buy one from them and I needed it shipped to Michigan. They said they had 10 this morning and 4 left. I was told they are saving them for walk in customers and would not ship out of state.
