On my ankle from '92 - '09
I carried a J frame on my ankle from the day I got on the road in 1984. First a model 60, which I sold to a friend (who still carries it), then this beauty. I still carry it (almost exclusively). Has always been my favorite. This one now has 32+ years of almost daily service.
Update (11/19/24): On 10/19/24 while at a local gun show in ETN, a collector was very interested in the 042 and offered me more than I could say no to. I'm not a collector and figured I could replace it for close to what I sold it for (That assumption was correct). I went and bought a new 442 Pro Shop model. When it arrived the action felt like sand paper, and two screws were damaged. Additionally the cylinder did not open smoothly. So far I definitely have sellers (and buyers) remorse. Sent the new 442 back to S&W ( who have been very responsive so far).
