Is smith weapons performance center worth anything or am I better to send a 19-3 to a custom smith. It has a little end shake and more lateral cylinder movement than it should. I think it may be the yoke because when I hold finger pressure on the ejector rod it doesn't move. When I let go the cylinder along with the ejector rod and the yoke all move.

You can send to PC, sounds like end shake ( stretch yoke and recut ), the problem could be an out of round center pin hole in the frame , locking bolt could be an issue also, but these need to be checked by a
qualified gunsmith. If you have egg shaped hole in frame your options are limited.

Are the guys at smith pc still competent, have read a lot of bad things lately about smith lagging in cs, though internet rumors are usually 50/50. Also the gun being older its not under warranty so Ill have to pay anyway. The frame hole is perfectly round btw, really like the size of the gun just don't wanna sink more than it's worth in it. No brainer if it was under warranty. Also is smith decent on repair pricing.

I do not believe that S&W will accept a revolver this old for routine repair work.

Once Smith and Wesson has purged their inventory of a generation of parts they do not do routine repairs to those firearms any longer.

You might want to give them a phone call.

A non-factory gunsmith will probably be your only choice. There must be dozens if not hundreds of gunsmiths capable of this work in your State
