Smith & Wesson CSX?

Theres a number of videos out today on the csx on you tube and its a shield plus size and weight pistol so whats the point ! No Interest for me . Oh yea - 6lb plus SA trigger pull sort sucks too .

A small carry for me would be a officers size 1911 or my wifes m&p9c .

Yeah 6 lbs SA trigger sounds pretty gross. Come back when it's got a 3.5 lbs trigger.

There's a video on the "other" forum that answers many questions, and makes the CSX seem like a Shield for grownups :D. My resistance to it is slightly weaker.

Just ordered mine

My buddy just told me about this gun a few hours ago. Checked some U-Tube reviews and liked what I saw.

Nagels Gun Shop in San Antonio, Texas, is sending me one as we speak. It will go well with my (in new condition) model 39-2 I just picked up.

I will let you know how it is when I get it. I was sold almost at once when I realized it ha an alloy frame instead of a poly material.

I'll predict they'll make them for two to three years at most, then come out with something "new and improved". But I'm totally just talking out my backside, so who knows?

One of the videos that I watched last night showed that the trigger does not slide straight back like a 1911. It tilts a tiny bit like it's hinged at the top. I was sort of interested until I saw that and the heavy pull. I'll take a look when I can but don't think I'm a buyer.

Like the look but why not just come back with the CS-9 with Tercen grips and night sights? Metal frame is a welcome but won't be switching from my CS-9

Our store had sold a few since we're a big S&W dealer and I've held it several times today.

It's a heavy trigger......but overall feels good in the hand.

Totally agree with your review of that guy's video. I don't enjoy him at all.

Meanwhile, if we are giving reviews... you just made F I V E separate posts for 9 sentences. Really?!

Sorry about that, I was multi tasking and also am not very good at making multiple quotes in the same post. Lazy I guess.

I like the idea of it at least, S&W making a new non-1911 (even if this is going to be heavily derivative of the Kimber Micro 9/Sig P938 'micro 1911' school of gun design) metal-framed hammer-fired gun is a bit unusual given how they're currently running things and I hope it does well enough for them to hopefully make more. The actual execution of it well... I'll probably wait for a 'Pro' or 'PC' model and I can't pick one up right away living in CA anyway.

A dealer near me sent the following email image. I'd like to get there and check the CSX out.

Got the same email.
I'll be in the area on Saturday attending the Washington County Gun Show. May ta a little side trip.
As far a a 6.5 lb. trigger, I am sure it can be massaged to a lighter pull.
It's just S&W being cautious concidering ADs.
Glad to see them buck the trend and actually make a metal auto, not just another ho-hum plastic fantastic.
Right now I'm looking for a .40.
Think there's a possibility?

Rambling review here, go to the 5 minute mark to get past a bunch of product placements:

Smith & Wesson Shocks the World: The CSX 9mm - YouTube

Like him or not, I'm glad he did this review. The fact that the front grip strap broke and fell off in his first outing is a problem. A 6lb+ trigger pull on a C'd & L'D single action gun is atrocious. I don't really care about the rail so no big deal there. I was really excited about this, but I will wait for S&W to improve some things before I check this one out.

Will definitely wait for the 2.0! Refined frame (de-uglied) and improved trigger pull.

Same size and capacity as Shield Plus and a hammer? It would be my new carry gun if it was DA/SA. I don't see this being a hit. SAO gun doesn't appeal to a large portion of the public.

I'd like that too but this new gun is lighter than the CS9 was. And why in the world wouldn't they have a grip safety on a Gun carried cocked and locked? They put a grip safety on the EZ but not a gun with the hammer back on a live round? Stupidity.

He could have done that entire review in 5 minutes. Dude talks too much...:D

Truly. Don't care about the watches he likes or the knives he carries either. Biggest wind-bag on YouTube.

I don't believe the Sig 938 was such a monster hit. I don't know anyone who Carries one. Don't see this CSX being any different.

My brother already had this gun. It is called a Star Firestar Plus. It is double column, aluminum framed, single action, about the same size and weight, the triggers seem to pivot the same way. The overall gun even looks alike. Back to the past S&W goes!
