As I get older, I am thinking about shooting my older revolvers that at least appear unfired. My question is will the 1926 M&P 38 special revolvers handle 158 grain lead nose modern ammo? Thanks!

Thanks! I forgot to say it is 38 special, but assume most know that. I edited that it is 38 special. I know they are designed to shoot 158 grain lead nose, but didn't know if todays ammo is too hot for these older guns. I have a few dating back to 1903/1905 also. Thinking about shooting them as well. Thanks!

If you would be so kind, what is the serial number (ballpark # is fine) on your 1926 M&P? For sentiment reasons I'm in the market for a revolver from 1926. From what I've gathered so far the serial number range for 1926 is approximately 510000 - 560000.
