Anyone know which smooth faced triggers will fit a 1948 production 5-screw K22?

The serrated trigger gets pretty tiring when shooting double action for a while, so I want to swap it to a smooth trigger. Does anyone know if later year triggers will fit? There's just so many for sale online it's hard to keep track of which ones are appropriate for a 5-screw model.

I don't mind doing some minor hand fitting with stones if necessary, i'd just rather buy a trigger for a more modern model and find out the dimensions completely do not fit.

I could dremel the existing trigger but I would rather keep it original. Or one alternative is to buy an original 5-screw K-frame trigger and dremel that one

• Grooved trigger change order March 18, 1929 by F. H. Wesson on all .32-20, .38, and.44 Hand Ejectors, .265" wide; the K22 began life about 1931 with grooved trigger.

Starting in 1986 the standard trigger on K, L and N frames became the smooth combat trigger which varies in width from .312" to .320. You'll like that one.

After 1995 triggers were no longer forged, they are MIM (Metal Injection Molding). They would work but may take some fitting. They have a hollow back for quick identification.

What you could do is buy any K Frame steel trigger and modify that and save your trigger to be able to restore the gun to original.

I have "smoothed" a few J and K frame triggers and it does make a lot of difference, especially in double action shooting.
