Can the use of snap caps and dry firing damage your M&P?

No it won't damage your M&P using Snap Caps

The M&P .22 should not be dryfired wothout snap caps, simillar to any .22; it can peen the chamber. The M&P centerfires can be dryfired all you want.

Now I wonder what the difference between S&W 22's and Rugers? I have a Ruger LCR22 and Ruger said the it's OK to dry fire???
